INTRODUCTION OF THORN - Summary

My name is MJ Dixon and I have been running the creative collective know as 'Mycho' for just under a decade now. We are in our 9th year as a creative entity and in that time have seen our creations grow from small short films and web content to Award Winning independent Feature Length Horror Features and Shorts.

Most recently we developed a High Concept Feature called Slasher House (On DVD April 29th) and that was the starting point of a huge in film universe that we intend to create. The film has received international distribution and was created, developed and shot on a tiny budget of just £5000. Instead of relying on money to make our film great, we relied on ingenuity and creative thinking to bring the film to completion. 

HISTORY OF THORN - Who Is Thorn?

Thorn is the oldest character in the Mycho Universe, both in reality and in our story, But that would be getting a head of ourselves. Thorn has featured in our projects for quite some time now in one way or another and eventually made it to his first film appearance in 2009 in the short film THORN.

SHORT FILM 

In 2009 we set out to make a little taster of the story of Thorn, that short film went on to win Scary Or Dies Number 1 film in their annual competition in 2010. The film is juts a small window into the characters world and hints at a much bigger story, A story we plan to expand upon in the feature. Whilst staying true the tone and feeling of the character.

SLASHER HOUSE

Thorn then went on to appear in our second Feature film Slasher House where he quickly stood out as a fan and critic favourite. He plays an intergral part of the story, but in the film his past remains a mystery, We intend to illuminate his shadowy past by making a film that ties directly into this but stands alone as its own movie at the same time.

THORN - THE FEATURE FILM

To continue on this road the next film we intend to make is THORN, a feature based on one our fan favourite characters from the Mycho Universe and also features heavily in our last movie Slasher House. The film will expand on the characters and themes that we set up in the Slasher House movie, however it will act as a stand alone film for those who are new to our films and characters. 

THE PLOT

4 years ago on February 29th... Jessica Harper and her friends lived a nightmare that has left her pursued from that moment by the unstoppable Killer known as Thorn... Four years on, Jessica and a band of survivors from that night make an attempt to stop him once and for all... but how can you stop what can't be stopped?

We have, over the years, crafted an approach that allows us to make feature length films on very small budgets, but those budgets need to raised nonetheless. We have many different options available that let you contribute to the film in a variety of ways and we want to give you many exciting things in return.

GOALS OF THORN - What We Need 

Films cost money, in our case not too much, but if this was a Hollywood production we would already be into our millions with the ambitious script and ideas that we have. However, we are independents and where we shine is by taking on the ideals and conventions of Hollywood movies for a fraction of the cost.

Large film sets are full of luxuries and the first thing we do is strip all that away, we make sure that every single penny that gets spent, gets spent on the screen. No high class hotels, no luxury food items, it all goes up there on the screen for you to enjoy.

INVESTMENT OF THORN - Become an Investor

In return for your £1,000 investment we are offering a profit share deal of 5% of Mycho’s income from any distribution contracts relating to Thorn for 5 years from the date of its completion. You will have a contract signed by the Director and the Producer to ensure your security. In addition to that you will have a full screen Co-Producer credit on the end of the film, you will be able to come and join us for a day on set and have a cameo role in the movie. We will advertise your business or company on all posters, social media and at festivals where possible and you will make horror film history.

CHEERS OF THORN - The Impact

The idea with Thorn is to take hold of current available technologies and really change the face of how Independent Cinema is made. We want to tell a story that is not only unique but harks back to the humble beginnings of films like Halloween, Friday the 13th and many other great franchises that now rule the horror world. It all starts from here with THORN.

We have applied this approach to our last film SLASHER HOUSE which has now seen worldwide release and has become a huge hit in the horror community BEFORE it has even been officially released on domestic DVD. Our plan with Thorn is to emulate that approach, but with a much more efficient and professional final product. 

With your help we can do it and make something amazing and in the end that is our primary objective.
