A Stop-motion animation from the heart.

My name is Alba Garcia-Rivas I am a Puppet Fabricator, recognized by The Professional Doll Makers Art Guild and an award winner Filmmaker (Stop-motion).

• Biography- My art creatures are in private collections all over the world and I am  a professor of Creature Design at the Fantasiation Art Studio. I graduated from the University of Puerto Rico achieving a Fine Arts BA Degree.  I made a Stop-Motion Film at the School of Visual Arts, NY, achieving the Dusty Film Festival Award  and the Bronx Council on the Arts award for my 10 minute animation, The Happy Prince, by Oscar Wilde. I worked at MTV as an Animator, for the Celebrity Deathmatch series.

STORY INSPIRATION

The night after Alba Garcia-Rivas learned that her
former art student — a 23-year-old twin who was studying to become a
special-education teacher — had died suddenly in her sleep, Garcia-Rivas
lay awake in bed.

A scene played in a loop in her mind: the woman's identical twin staring into a mirror and seeing her sister.

Garcia-Rivas had an idea — what if the mirror were a portal that the twins could pass through to reunite?

This movie is to honor my dear student Emily Gomez and also serves as a catharsis for me and Katherine, Emely's sister and their sweet  mom Maggie.  Words cannot express how painful it is to see such a smart,  and full of life girl, that was doing great things for her community and suddenly she sleeps away in another universe. We miss her greatly, I wish I could create a portal to reunite her with Katherine. That is why I wrote this story.


THE STORY

 

Time/Space Reflections is a Sci-fi/Fantasy story about an inventor  in the future that loses her twin sister tragically.  To cope with her grief she creates a Time/Space Portal  that can go to other dimensions.

Meanwhile, there is another twin in a parallel universe  creating a  portal, she looks identical to the futuristic twin, in this case she lives in a fantastical renaissance world. The difference is that she is using alchemy to create the portal. 

The portal opens, they see each other for the first time, there is happiness, and jubilation.  But soon they discovered that crossing the portal means death.

 

• This is how you can enrich this  amazing animated film, with supplies and materials to finish the puppets and the sets. To pay all professional artists involved in the film. 
  

What We Need & What You Get

• We need $20,000 for stop-motion materials and professional artists working in the film. 

  • EQUIPMENT / SUPPLIES- The majority of the money raised will be to pay, the materials to make the rapid prototyping face-plates 500 in total for the creation of facial expressions, the props, sets, the characters, get a camera that works with Dragonframe software.

  • ARTISTS- To pay an original music composer, editor, mold makers, animators, VFX, sound effects etc. In other words,  will be used to do the Production and Post-Production of the film.

• We will be giving away face plates, props and one-of-a- kind furniture, that appeared in the film.  Unique collectors items! No one will have it but YOU!

• We will also give Special Thanks credits, Associate Producer, Executive Producer, and Producer credits for your company or name.
• If we don't reach the entire goal, we will use the funds to finish the props and sets.  It will affect how fast we will finish the film. It will be a slower process. It will get made, but it will take longer to complete. Our artists are professionals in the film industry, and they believe in our studio. We are working under one motto:  "We believe in the film,  is a labor of love,  and it will get done!"
• You will get a beautiful film with stunning artistry that is aiming to participate in International Film Festivals and mainly in the famous  Academy Awards!

The Project

Fantasiation was born in founder Alba Garcia's basement. She decided to build a company in the year 2008. After 7 years of art doll creations, conventions and galleries, she decided it was time to go back to her roots, stop-motion animation.

Fantasiation consists of a team of talented artists, filmmakers and animators who are all here because we love to make beautiful things and are inspired by Time/Space Reflections story. Alba wants to bring stop-motion back. We know that Time/Space Reflections is just the beginning of the amazing things to come!

How far we have come?

The script, storyboard, animatic, character design is done. With your pledge we can continue the puppet fabrication and print all the 500 faces we need, we also can  finish the sets and start animation right away. We will keep you updated in our website.

• The story was born of a personal tragedy, it contains the universal elements  of loss and sacrifice, this is why it is so valuable to us, because we can  bring you a beautiful film that can enrich us and can remind us of our vulnerabilities.
• The Happy Prince animated film I did before contained the same universal elements, the audience embrace this film just because they connected with the story.
• This is  my goal: to entertain, but also to challenge one to think, to provoke, even disturb, in a constant search for truth.
