HELP US BRING FRESH, DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS CORN TORTILLAS TO PORTLAND, MAINE AND SUPPORT LOCAL AGRICULTURE
I'm Lynne Rowe and I'm opening up Tortillería Pachanga, a fresh corn tortillería right here in the beautiful city of Portland, Maine.

Many years of teaching Spanish and working and traveling in Mexico have given me a deep appreciation for the tortilla and the corn from which it is made. My family and I decided that this endeavor was a way of bringing together what our experience in Mexico has given us with our love of local food and the state we call home. Pachanga, in Mexico, means "party, wing ding, bash". It is when friends and family come together and enjoy life- accompanied by delicious, tasty, lovingly-prepared food, drink, music, and lots of laughter. It is in this spirit that we prepare and offer our tortillas.
We are making our tortillas with a variety of organic and heritage corn grown right here in Maine.

We already have:
My husband Jon and I just brought back a used tortilla line in great condition capable of making up to 1200 tortillas/hour from Michigan. We are just waiting to get it set up and running.

Local sources for our corn

We are initially sourcing our corn (organic yellow field dent corn and Abenaki Calais flint corn) through Crown O' Maine Cooperative with Morgan's Mills and Songbird Farm as well as from a couple of very small, local growers.

You can help us make this project happen. Your contribution will enable us to:
-
set up the production space in Portland
Our goal of $15,000 will allow us to set up an industrial production space in Portland at a basic level, including plumbing and venting. The more we raise, the better we can set up for the long haul of tortilla making.
-
establish our supply network and support the production of organic, non-gmo, and heritage varieties of corn in Maine
Think of it like a CSA-we are investing in the corn production of local growers and buying their future corn harvests to ensure their continued growth and our supply of nutritious, sustainable corn to make our fresh, delicious tortillas.
-
develop eco-friendly packaging
Using environmentally packaging materials, including biodegradable plastic bags, is more costly at the outset but we want to make sure our products are as environmentally-responsible as possible from the start. Your contributions allow us to make this investment.
We can use all the help we can get spreading the word about our Indiegogo campaign as well as our soon to be available delicious corn tortillas. We're also looking for any kind of help you can offer-help moving in to our space, setting up the tortillería, decorator tips, no offer will be refused!
Thank you so much for your support! We can't wait to offer our tortillas to you!

¡Buen Provecho!
