It's the last years of the 19th century and London is under attack from outer space.
The population panics.
Tidings of Martian war machines and devastation spread throughout the city.
Newspaper sellers cry their headlines even as they flee the oncoming carnage.
Carriages are fought over in a bid to escape the crush of the narrow streets and as railway workers valiantly strive to convey people to safety the helpless mass of humanity turn on each other in a frantic bid to avoid destruction...
such is the stuff of...

Tripods! is a narrative strategy game, with the overriding story pre-determined but the timing of events so flexible that no two games are ever identical.
During the game 2-4 players compete to have the most Survival points by the time the Martians are overcome. Points are gained for escaping, surviving and killing Tripods with the help of Her Majesty's Army, but as the game goes on and alien foliage spreads throughout the city external help begins to fade away, leaving players fighting each other for the last remaining spaces of refuge. Watch your friends betray and backstab each other as the Tripods gaze on!
To see how the game works, have a look at the game rules or this unboxing and play-through video. The fully-annotated play-through can be found on our facebook page.

"Tripods!" began as an idea over breakfast one morning at the Asylum Steampunk Festival in Lincoln. Over a year's development and playtesting by a group of committed Bristol board game lovers the concept has been honed into a gripping and always-different experience with stunning paintings from local artist Solly Solomon. Rather than tender the idea to a big games chain we want to keep this an independent project by games fans for games fans, with prices as low as we can make them whilst ensuring the same quality we would insist on ourselves.
Prototypes of the game have been created and sent to various groups and magazines for playing- reviews, videos and releases will be posted here as they become available. All design work has been completed and the print run is ready to start, this campaign is hoping to take enough pre-orders to fund it. Germany company Ludo Fact who printed such well-known games as Carcassonne, Settlers of Catan and Dixxit are lined up to produce the games so you can be sure the quality will be top-notch.
Sadly the manufacturers cannot guarantee delivery by Christmas, but we know many people will want to order this game as presents so we will send a special Tripods! Christmas card for every game purchased if it looks like the games themselves aren't going to be done it time.
If the target is met there will be some exciting new perks added, such as strictly-limited-edition metal Tripod figures and Military Unit Badges which will ONLY be available to Indiegogo campagn backers. So get spreading the word! THE INVASION HAS BEGUN!
