We like to make stuff. We are a very small group who
have pooled our resources...by which I mean skills, time and/or cash to make TUGGER
the ship.By 'we', I mean
Kevin Bertazzon the writer/co-director/producer/art director/ editor/actor,
Chris Capel co-director/producer/director of photography/editor and myself,
Lori Bertazzon co-producer/actor. During production, due to an unwavering
commitment day in and day out, and for being an all around every-woman, we made Kat Ward an
Associate Producer. Both Kevin and Chris have backgrounds in computer
animation, which is also how they met.
Since then, they have both directed animation and
live-action projects. Below is "HONOR" written/directed by Kevin Bertazzon and "NAPTIME!" written/directed by Chris Capel.
The best way we could think of showing people what we
want to make, was to make it.
Through a generous donation from Secret Plan Studios of
their office space, we had a location. We were able to build the bridge of the
space ship and hallway and to shoot principal photography.Building the bridge and hallway was
estimated to take 3 days; it took twelve. Many days we walked out as the sun
was rising, saying, “See you back here after a quick shower and short nap!” All
of this happened the first three weeks of July 2013.
Kevin and Chris have already finished an edit of the
live action and completed the voice over for TUGGER
the ship, who's the shows narrator, by Peter Atkins (writer, Hellbound: Hellraiser II,Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth and Hellraiser IV: Bloodline, Wishmaster, actor and voice over
artist).And to keep tooting our
horn, we also have Michele Specht, who plays Dr. Elise MacKennah on Star
Trek Continues, as O-MOM-E;
Kelly Marchand, Miss Horrorfest 2009, as MEDS; Michael Bernardi who appeared in the comedy Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star, as Buffalo Bames; and Reid Koster from
Upright Citizen’s Brigade, as Wife.
As fun and challenging as the build and shoot were,
this next phase NEEDS to go well too. Nothing like a sci-fi show with bad
special effects! Our live action looks great...Kevin's design was realized into
a Barbie Dream House Space Ship and Chris shot it beautifully.
We are campaigning for finishing funds, which will
include:
Design, model, rig, composite, animation, render,
graphic effects, ADR, sound design, final mix/master and color correction and color
grading. If we are unable to reach our goal, we will use whatever money we
raise towards the final sound mix, (CG) computer graphics and the special
effects that we can afford.

Your
contribution will make the difference—enabling us to take our impressive live
action cut and fill it out with wondrous special effects, incredible music and
sound, as well as fantastic animation. You can’t have a sci-fi show with a
space ship and not have it look completely
amazing. Right?!
