Hi!
This is Kenyon Sky Dellecave. You may know me from my involvement in such projects as the Dragon Lotus 2012 Colorado C.O.R.E., the One Eyed Monster, and most recently, Prima Materia. As you now know, I will be building the effigy for Apogaea this year. This will be a large and lengthy project, and I hope to involve many of you in its construction and design. While all of the materials for the construction of this piece will be fully paid for by the art grant I received, there were no funds in the grant for a workspace.
Denver is in need of more spaces where large projects can be built. I have begun leasing an arts space for not only this effigy project, but also for the Temple of Infinite Life, and a large metal sculpture, Arcus Hymenoptera. UNIT 3 Workspace is located at 5371 Tennyson st, UNIT 3. This will be a place for construction, workshops, art storage, and collaboration. I am creating a sustainable heavy arts space for the greater good of ourselves and for our larger community.
It is a personal imperative of mine to continue to make large, community built art, and by doing so, inspire and share skills with others so that they may lead a more creative, and thereby more fulfilled life.
I am asking for $2500 to cover the effigy's portion of renting a warehouse space for the four months of the effigy and temple build, and for some tools to facilitate the production of these and future projects. If any additional funds are raised, they will be used to further outfit the shop.
On offer are some one of a kind rewards that you won't be able to find anywhere else as gifts for your donations. Original artwork, custom screenprints, and a pizza party painting workshop are all being offered as rewards to contributors helping to make this dream of mine a reality.
If I am unable to meet my fundraising goal, any money raised will go towards these exact goals. I am fully prepared to pay for the rental of the space once the effigy is finished, but I hope to be able to complete the effigy without incurring too many out of pocket expenses.
UNIT 3 Workspace will be an asset to our creative community here in Denver, providing a space to meet, work and collaborate with likeminded people. You may rest assured that your contribution will be used to fund the creation of more art, and to create a space for that to happen.
