¡Hola Amigos!
My name is Andrés Salguero, and I am a singer-songwriter of kids music. I've been performing music for kids since 2007, and in 2009 I created my own show, called ¡Uno, Dos, Tres con Andrés! (www.123andres.com) This project is raising funds for me to produce my first CD.
I grew up in Bogotá, Colombia, immersed in Latin music. I've lived in the US for ten years, and I still love and appreciate the richness and diversity of this music, and want to share it with new audiences.
In my kids show, my songs teach Spanish words, incorporate lots of Latin rhythms like bachata and cumbia, and get families dancing. At every show, people ask me, "Where can I find your CD?" Parents really want to take home my songs to practice Spanish with the kids.
I am finally close to finishing a great CD with 10 original songs that I hope families will enjoy. One song teaches kids the different instruments in a Mariachi band, another teaches colors in Spanish, and on another, kids are going to "Salta, Salta!" (Jump, jump!) Plus we will have a booklet with original illustrations to go along with the great music.
Te necesitamos... We need you!
We've done A LOT so far. Recording is almost done, and the artwork is on its way, but we have a few big ticket items left to do:
Mixing: $2,800
Mastering: $1,000
Pressing: $2,200
Total Goal: $6,000
If we exceed our goal, we will be able to this project even further. We hope to be able to produce a Learning Guide with with educational activities and resources for parents, teachers and librarians. We also want to commission an animation for a music video for Los Colores, one of the songs from the CD!
Trabajando Juntos... Working Together
I am excited for you to be a part of this project. I will be thanking contributors with thank-you notes, music lessons, concerts in your homes, and invites to participate in the filming of a music video. I will even write and record an original song just for you.
If you have any questions or want to get in touch, please contact me by email (andres@123andres.com) or on Facebook. Also please check out the Gallery for more videos, and visit my website to learn more about my music.
Thanks so much for being a part of this. Muchas gracias!
