What is Veterans Trek?
Thomas Voss and Anthony Anderson, two veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom, are making a 2,700 mile journey from Milwaukee to Los Angeles to bring a message of hope and healing to veterans everywhere suffering from PTSD. Oh - and they're doing it ON FOOT.
MEET THE TREKKERS:
TOM IN IRAQ CIRCA 2004
ANTHONY IN IRAQ CIRCA 2005
In August of 2013, Tom and Anthony will embark on a cross country walk that will benefit Dryhootch, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping vetterans reintegrate into civilian life after returning from deployment.
Anthony is the current Director of Operations at Dryhootch, while Tom served as the organization's Vice President from 2011-2012.
As young war veterans who both suffer from PTSD, Tom and Anthony hope to give other vets hope while making a journey that is physically, emotionally and spiritually challenging. Additionally, they hope to raise $100,000 to benefit Dryhootch and help the organization expand its operations nationwide.

The Impact
Tom and Anthony will be stopping at various checkpoints along the American Discovery Trail to honor the veterans of each major city and town.
The walk will culminate in California, where the vets will end their trip by gathering with other Iraq War Veterans at the VA West Los Angeles Healthcare Center.
There, they will pay tribute to those who have come before, those who have fallen in the line of duty, and those who have lost their battle with PTSD.
