Watch the Rhine
France. 1944. Jim, a young Private in the United States Army, wakes up alone in a foxhole. He frantically treks through the forest trying to catch up with his unit. When Jim comes face to face with a lone German soldier he must find his courage. But are they alone?
Watch the Rhine is a World War II short film being shot right outside of Conway, Arkansas! Using a local cast and crew, we are hoping to create an intimate war drama that feels like part of bigger epic like Saving Private Ryan or Band of Brothers.
Our Crew
We are J. Cole Lansden, Taylor Dan Lucas, and River Shelman. Watch the Rhine is our senior thesis film for Digital Filmmaking at the University of Central Arkansas. Everything we have learned in college has led up to this point. We are passionate about producing, directing, shooting - but most of all, we're storytellers.

Where Does the Money Go?
We don't need much, but the little things add up fast. To do this story justice and create the best film possible will require some money. So, where does the money go?
Costumes/Props - Accuracy is very important to us since this is a period piece. To make the audience believe the world of the film and to honor the men who sacrificed for our freedom we want the uniforms and weapons to be as realistic and complete as possible.
Equipment - To make the best movie we want the best tools. We are shooting with a Sony FS100 and need the accessories to utilize this great camera. Camera, light, and sound are much more difficult in the middle of a pine forest!
Craft Services - Students and volunteers need to eat, too! Spending all day shooting out in the woods creates some big appetites!
Everything Else - Our goal is that at the end of this we have a film we are proud of. We would like to be able to share it in film festivals all around the world. Printing posters, making DVDs, paying for festival entry fees, advertising - it ain't cheap!
