Welcome to Hell
For years I have been sitting in the audience, reviewing (and in some cases ranting) films. It was back in 2010 that I got my first real taste of indie film. I've had the itch to make my own film for much longer than that, but it was my first visist to the Oshkosh Horror Film Festival that really made me realize that, hey, maybe I can really do this.
After talk and speculation and writing a script, and then rewriting the script, then more talk, and about 50 more rewrites, I finally have a script I am happy with. I in the process of casting as I write this. It is finally time to do this.
So, what's the film about? Without giving too much away, here is a short summary. Mr. Jacobs has passed away and after leading a rather awful life he awakes in hell. The devil, much more cheerful than one would imagine, greets him personally and gives him a brief run down of how hell operates. Mr. Jacobs gets to choose his own personal hell, the way he will spend all of eternity paying for his nefarious ways.
Why do I need money? Well, as I am working on this more and more I am finding that there are a lot of little expenses that start to pop up. Props aren't always free, makeup costs money as does someone skilled enough to use it properly. We have cameras but stil need to invest in lighting and sound equipment. Then there is editing feeding the cast and crew while on set, transportation, rental fees for possible locations, and trips to the hardware store. I have a portion of all this paid for already, but I am beginning to realize that I could use a little help.
