Hello,
My name is Wes Tirey, and I’m a songwriter living in Black Mountain, NC –– but I’m originally from Dayton, OH. In February I released my EP “I Stood Among Trees,” (listen at www.westirey.bandcamp.com) and so far it’s done pretty well. It’s done especially well in Italy, with the EP receiving good reviews on various popular Italian music blogs and radio play on a popular folk music program. Given the great response, I thought it’d be smart to go overseas and play some shows. After getting in touch with some contacts, a weeklong tour was put together with the help of the Roman promo group Unplugged in Monti. Touring overseas has been a dream of mine for years, so to say that I’m excited is an understatement; and considering the professionalism of Unplugged in Monti, I’m sure it’ll prove to be an incredible experience.
The only financial assistance I need is for a round-trip plane ticket. Though the venues have guaranteed 100 Euros a gig, plus dinner and hotel, I simply cannot afford right now to pay for the ticket upfront. If I don’t reach my goal, I’ll find some way to make up the rest –– this is an opportunity that I simply can’t miss. A ticket right now runs around $1,200, so I’m asking for $1,400 just to be safe and adjust for marginal price changes over the course of the campaign.
