Short Summary
Actress/Producers, Jane Petrov and Amanda Dow, have teamed up with Harry Kakatsakis, director of the award-winning short, Admissions, starring James Cromwell, to produce a short sci-ii film about two topics they are passionate about- our individual health and the Earth's sustainability.
This film is about Anne, a mother who severely neglects her family and her environment when it comes to good health habits, recycling and the conservation of Earth's resources. One day, she is confronted by a time-traveling scientist, returning from the future, to convince her to change her ways.
Our purpose with the film is to build awareness about how we pollute our bodies as we do the Earth and the effect we have on our fragile eco-system. Together we can support each other, find solutions and create a better future for our children. Our plan is to be part of film festivals and educational programming for children world-wide.
The film was shot November 18-20, 2012 and has been in post-production. Thanks to all of our generous supporters, we were able to secure half of our $11,000 budget in the fall (about $4600 after Indiegogo fees). Even with mother nature presenting Hurricane Sandy and the presidential campaign in full swing during our first fundraising period, we were still very pleased with the support we received. That allowed us to shoot the film with awesome equpment and production talent. Now we are looking to raise the rest of the funds. Your contributions are our primary source of funding. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING INDEPENDENT FILMS and helping us create this entertaining sci-fi film with high quality production value.
What We Need
Our budget of $5,500.00 will help us pay for post-production expenses such as visual effects, color correction and compostion as well as film festival fees ($35-$55 per submission). We will complete the movie and be ready to launch into festivals beginning June 1, 2013.
