We were always soooo frustrated and irritated (as we believe you are too) when our earphones would get tangled in our pockets or bags. Imagine this: it's a beautiful day, you're in a great mood. You've just stepped out of your apartment and about to listen to a new album from your favorite band. You reach for your earphones and - of course! They're a complete mess. And then you're standing in a street for few minutes fighting the most complex knot known to men. Finally, when you're done untangling wires, you're not in such great mood anymore. OK, it is a first world problem, but it's still a problem :) And now we've come up with most practical and beautiful solution to your problem.

why knot? is special for its unique design because it's the simplest and fastest way of managing your earphones. It uses the simple logic: once your earphones are in it, it creates a closed loop. Once in that position, some strange but mathematically proven law disables them from getting tangled.
Suspicious? Try it at home: use a piece of tape to put earphones and mini jack together and see for yourself.

Now, what's so special about why knot?
Unlike similar products, it will stop your earphones from tangling, but also will prevent them from damaging. When you have to wrap them or fold them, you will cause damage over time, and you'll find yourself buying a new pair way sooner than you thought. And who wants to waste their money and change earphones like you do your underwear?

It's made out of a special kind of material - an extremely dense sponge, formed and processed by laser cutting - that allows it to be light, extremely durable, firm yet flexible thus making it ideal for a product like why knot? that needs to be simple to use, soft (so it doesn't damage your phone or mp3 player) and lasting.
The first batch of why knot? makes it available in 6 distinct and fun colors. Availability of more than 12 different colors is planned for the near future.
why knot? is a product designed with functionality and aesthetics in mind while the availability of different colors allows you to mix and match it to your outfit, cellphone or your mood! So choose the ones you like best or get all of them, and never worry about your earphones getting tangled again.

The best feature of why knot? is definitely it's fun, yet carefully devised design which make it extremely simple to use. All you need is two seconds and you're ready to go. The mini jack is placed in central hole, right above the why knot? stamp, where it can rest permanently (even when plugged into your phone or mp3 player). The two earphones are placed into the other two holes, which are especially designed as to allow you to simply and quickly remove them whenever you need them and place them back when you're done with your call or finished listening to your music.

What we need is a fund of 8500$ to make it happen. why knot? will be manufactured right here in Zagreb, Croatia by a local molder, so we'll be able to guarantee to our supporters around the world quality, great design and a product that will last. We will invest the funds into manufacturing the product and will immediately place the order for our production run. Also, while we want distribute why knot? at the lowest possible price, that's something we cannot do while we're still making prototypes. Once we gain funds we'll be able to do so.
