What is Wild Friends Nut Butter?
We make all-natural peanut and almond butters with wild flavors and friendly ingredients.
We started making different flavors of nut butter in our kitchen because we wanted the fun of flavors without white sugars, preservatives, additives, or oil. Instead of using slick oils or processed sweeteners, we use natural ingredients that taste great and are healthy. In fact, we’ve found that whole ingredients taste better and are superior fuel for your body. It’s pretty much a win/win situation.
Our peanut butters are: Cinnamon Raisin, Honey Pretzel, Chocolate Coconut and our NEWEST flavor, Sesame Cranberry.
Our almond butters are: Vanilla Espresso and Chocolate Sunflower Seed.
Our Story:
Wild Friends began by happy accident one dreary Sunday at the University of Oregon. The two of us were in our college apartment, scraping the bottom of yet another jar of peanut butter. With no more peanut butter and a surplus of celery, we were faced with a familiar conundrum. However, neither of us wanted to ride a bike out in the pouring rain to buy more.
Luckily, we had a bag of raw peanuts, a brand new food processor, and two squirrelly little minds. It didn’t take long before we had created our first batch of homemade peanut butter. However, as creative chefs, we were not content with leaving our freshly made peanut butter to be just plain or crunchy. So we began adding every conceivable ingredient from our pantry. We sprinkled in cinnamon, raisins, chocolate chips, coffee, coconut...the list went on and on.
After extensive sampling, we decided our product was simply too good to keep to ourselves, so we brought a few jars over to our friends. They loved it, and encouraged us to make a website to sell our tasty creations.
We launched in grocery stores in November 2011, and we are now in over 1300 stores across the country.

We are SO excited about our newest flavor, Sesame Cranberry peanut butter -- which is only available on our website and in select stores. We want to make this flavor available to ALL stores. However, launching a new product is expensive:
- New packaging and ingredients are expensive up-front costs that aren't built into our budgeting
- Distributers require fees to add new products to their distribution system
- Many stores require payment to add new products to shelves
- We will need to pay to sample products in stores to ensure good sales
The $10,000 we are raising will allow us to spread this new flavor far and wide and expand the Wild Friends family a little more!
