What is WINTER magazine?
Winter is the season of extremes and opposing emotions – a kind of bipolar experience where freezing cold collides with cosy warmth, despair with joy, and loneliness with togetherness. We want to capture these contradicting emotions and mould them into a very personal, very special object.
WINTER magazine is an attempt to turn something dark and depressing, something most of us have negative associations with, into something unique and beautiful. Something we’ll want to keep in our bookshelves and flip through again every year in late November or mid-February, to remind ourselves that it isn’t so bad after all. Or maybe it is, but at least we’re all in it together.
WINTER magazine will be published on 20 March 2014, the last day of winter. We will print 1,000 copies on high-quality paper. Content will be in both English and German, with translations provided for all German texts. Magazines for spring, summer and autumn may follow.
