WIWE is a pocket device that is thin, easy-to-use and evaluates your ECG to detect serious medical conditions as well as helps you live a healthier life. It works either with smartphones or tablets.
Just going forward, keep getting better and better and no time for stopping or letting loose. You can use WIWE anytime, anywhere to make sure, that your heart keeps up with you.
For Seniors:

As we grow older so do the risks of Heart Diseases. With WIWE it's easy for anybody to check if everything is fine.
People taking care of the elderly:

Taking care of our elderly even if we can't be with them. With a built-in option to share it's easy to see our parents’ recordings from afar.
Health-conscious people:

WIWE shows us that we did enough for our body at the end of each day. Tracking how many calories you burn and how many steps you take has never been so easy.
Caring mothers:

Knowing that we can take care of our children for a long time still. Because WIWE helps us to prevent serious Heart Diseases.
![]()
Our goal was to design a device that anybody can easily use. We intend to give a product that is available to everyone and which helps in the prevention of life threatening diseases like Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) and Afib-related Stroke.
What we created helps to give people confidence that their heart is in good condition so they don’t have to worry about it.
How it works?
The WIWE system consists of two parts:
- The WIWE device
- WIWE application
WIWE’s main function is recoding ECG, the electrical activity of the heart over a period of time. For this it uses the first limb lead (Lead I), meaning that the device evaluates the voltage between the left arm (positive electrode) and the right arm (negative electrode).

The time period for recording in the case of WIWE is 60 seconds. That’s around 60 cardiac cycles for a person in a calm environment.
The WIWE device
Is a cardiological diagnostic device. Its priority is evaluating the risk of Atrial Fibrillation and if there is a change in Ventricular Heterogenity. For this we use a unique and worldwide new method.
You can also measure your Blood Oxygen Level and Heart Rate when you record your ECG.
On top of these we wanted WIWE to also function as a pedometer. You can record the steps you take, the calories you burn and there are exciting badges and milestones waiting for you.
Recording with WIWE is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Put and keep your 2 fingertips on the electrodes
- Wait 60 seconds until the app says you can release
- Look through the evaluation screen presented to you
Important details of the evaluation:
Ventricular Heterogenity (VH):
- WIWE analyzes the ingerated value of the QRST
- If these differ in the cardiac cycles, then there is a change in Ventricular Heterogenity
Atrial Fibrillation (AF):
- It makes a Poincaré graph based on the R to R intervals
- Evaluates the variability of the length of intervals
The WIWE application
We wanted to put as much as we can into the application, yet keep it easy to use.

Evaluation screen:
- ECG (ElectroCardioGraphy) button shows, if there is any abnormality in the majority ECG waveform
- AF (Atrial Fibrillation) button shows, if there is a risk for Afib-related Stroke
- VH (Ventricular Heterogenity) button shows, if there is a risk for Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA)
- Under these you can find your Blood Oxygen Level (SpO2) and Heart Rate (Bpm)
The WIWE device also functions as a pedometer:

- Recording the steps you take
- Counting the calories you burned
- WIWE has graphs and statistics about your activity
- And there are interesting milestones for motivation
Please note for this to work the most precise way, detailed personal information are available under your user profile (Weight, Height, Age, etc.).
How we got here
Professor George Kozmann
The idea itself came from a famous Hungarian scientist, George Kozmann, professor (University of Pannonia), head of the Centre for Medical Informatics Research & Development, Faculty of Information Technology, Veszprém and his assistant, Gregory Tuboly (University of Pannonia, Faculty of Information Technology, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Systems).

Gregory Tuboly
They wanted to create something, that could be efficent in preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest and Afib-related Stroke. For this they needed a risk calculation algorithm which can evaluate if there is a risk for Atrial Fibrillation or change in the Ventricular Heterogenity. After this came the idea to use not 12 Lead just One Bipolar lead for measuring the above stated risks and using a phone for checking the results of the recordings. This was the basic concept of WIWE. The part of Gregory in the project is the development of the WIWE ECG/SpO2 signal processing and evaluating modules and the testing of the applied atrial fibrillation detection algorithm on reference ECG signals.

He said: „We tried for a long time in both Hardware and Software to make something that is capable of everything we wanted”.
![]()
„As we are starting to reach our goal the final concept is becoming clearer and clearer, although there were many prototypes on the way.”

We are working hard on both the software and hardware to solve every issue, but now we need your help!

Technical information
WIWE is a small (87,5 x 54 x 5,5 mm) and compact device.
![]()
Its about the size of a business card holder.
WIWE is also lightweight, it weighs about 40 g (cc. 1,4 ounce).

Risks and challenges
With a product this complex we’ve had a couple of setbacks but we managed to get over them.
As of now we’ve got challenges on 3 major fronts.
Manufacturing
We are now producing fully working prototypes for clinical testing and after that we need to prepare for mass production.
Software
Our programmers are giving their best for the software to be 100 % working.
As of now we’re looking at approximately 95 % concerning the recording and evaluation of the cardiac cycles.
Logistics
We'll receive our CE mark in March and we're working hard to get our FDA clearance in September.
Our goal is to be able to give a WIWE to anyone, anywhere!
