What is the woodster?

woodster is the natural solution of getting your iMac or Thunderbolt Display to a new level of view. Have you ever suffered from neck pain caused by not having the ergonomically optimal seat/desk-relation? Do you need your iMac or Thunderbolt Display in a higher position?

woodster made from local German wood lifts up your iMac or Thunderbolt Display to a higher position so you can work more comfortably. Even if you have never had neck pain issues, the woodster will add a modern natural touch to your working area.

Your woodster can be combined with two front 3.0 USB ports which make it easier to connect your USB-Drive on the front rather than on the back of your iMac or Thunderbolt Display.
 

Are there different wood types?

We would like to make it easy for you to choose the right wood-type that matches your work area. Three different wood-types can be chosen, each one in three different heights (3cm / 5cm / 8cm).

Which height do I need?

The perfect height for you depends on your chair-table combination. To help you find the height you need, open this page and follow the instructions. 

What does ergonomic mean?

Ergonomic denotes the relation between your chair, your table and your monitor resulting in your sitting position which is important for your well-being. Sub-optimal combinations can lead to pain in the neck, the shoulders or the back. woodster might help you improve your individual ergonomic working position. You have to consider that this is not a guarantee but a possible solution. Many factors contribute to your personal working place being ergonomic and healthy.

Does it support my iMac/TBD?

During the future order process you can choose your iMac version (starting with iMac produced in 2009) and you will get the woodster matching exactly the stand of your iMac. Thunderbolt Display from 2011.

My iMac/TBD has no USB 3.0, can i use the USB-Version?

Yes, of course! USB 2.0 is also supported. It is just not as fast as USB 3.0 ;)

Are there different colors?

As the woodster is a natural product, we leave the wood as it is cut from the tree. Simple and beautiful. However, as there are three different wood-types, you can choose the type that is right for your iMac.

Why does the project need 6.000€ to get started? 

Some things need to be purchased in a package of more than one hundred, for example the USB Ports. To get a good price I would need to order more than 500 pieces at once. Here are some more examples:

• Product Packages
• Packaging material
• Wood in the three different types

In order to provide the woodster for this reasonable price, we need to produce at least more than 20-30 at the same time. 

And we still do not have the appropriate office that allows us to store the woodster and process orders you will make.

These are just a few examples as to why I need your financial support.
