Yagul* is a short film animation inspired by early Mesoamerican civilization records and imaginary traditional charm. The story takes historical elements, natural landscapes and shares a message about discovery, love, loss and an inner journey. These elements transform the characters into new beings.
The central character Yagul, is a man who made the cave paintings in the Prehistoric Caves of Yagul and Mitla. He is a victim of severe cold that destroyed his world, the world of the hunter and gatherer. Yagul is the last of these men, who must transform himself to survive. Along with his girlfriend Aire (Bé), they both experience passion and fertility, giving rise to a new origin for mankind. Without question “Yagul” is a story you'll want to know.

How can you be part of this story?
Through Indiegogo, an international crowd funding site, we have launched this campaign to finance the production and postproduction of Yagul. Your contributions will not only help to carry out this exciting story of transformation, discovery and love, but also you can receive great rewards.

The story takes place in the prehistoric Caves of Guilá Naquitz in Yagul, located in the state of Oaxaca, Mexico. This archaeological site is more than 10,000 years old and was declared a World Heritage Site in 2010 by UNESCO.
- To create accessible multimedia materials for the public, in order to disseminate the cultural and natural wealth of the state of Oaxaca and promote the tourist attractions of Mexico.

Yagul* es un cortometraje animado inspirado en los
primeros registros de la civilización mesoamericana y el encanto del imaginario
tradicional. La historia de Yagul retoma elementos históricos y del
paisaje natural para compartir un mensaje sobre el descubrimiento y el amor, la
pérdida y el viaje interior, elementos que transforman a sus personajes en nuevos seres humanos.
El personaje central es Yagul, un hombre que hizo pinturas rupestres en las Cuevas Prehistóricas de Yagul y Mitla;
él es víctima de fuertes heladas que destruyeron su mundo, el del hombre cazador-recolector. Yagul es el último de estos hombres que debe transformarse para sobrevivir. Y,
junto a su compañera Aire (Bé) experimentan la pasión y fertilidad que dan un nuevo origen a la humanidad. Sin duda, Yagul es una historia que vas a querer conocer.

A través de Indiegogo, portal líder en financiamiento colectivo, lanzamos esta campaña para
financiar la producción y postproducción de Yagul. Por medio de tus
aportaciones no sólo contribuyes en la realización de esta historia emocionante
de transformación, descubrimiento y amor, sino que también puedes tener grandes
recompensas.
