From Matthew Jacobs, writer and co-producer of the Doctor Who TV Movie starring Paul McGann, a writer on The Emperor's New Groove, and co-star of Bernard Rose's Boxing Day with Danny Huston, comes the microbe feature YOUR GOOD FRIEND. Here, Jacobs directs and co-stars with Rabbi Lawrence Kusher (Renowned author and Emanu-El scholar-in-residence in San Francisco) to tell the tale of a unique friendship, in a unique way.
Your Good Friend is being released next Summer on iTunes and other major internet platforms, but you can be part of our movie now by helping fund the publicity that is so vital to drive this kind of distribution.
You can view the entire film by donating at ANY LEVEL. You will have UNLIMITED access to the film until the END of January so you can spread the word and get others involved.
As you can see, we are in the last 24 hours of this campaign ... The great thing about indiegogo over kickstarter is that we get to keep whatever is raised even if we don't reach our target. So just because it looks like we won't make the $6000 we can still use whatever you donate. A good publicist for a month is $3500 so already we're well on our way to achieving that, and that help alone means we can be confident that this community driven film will find a larger audience. WHAT IS THE STORY?
Rabbi Zander Lustig has returned to San Francisco in the hopes of getting back the apartment where he and his recently deceased wife fell in love many years ago. However the apartment is now occupied by Jules Epstein, a British pornographer whose heyday has long passed.
Jules used to make erotic feature films in the 1980s and he just didn’t change with the times. He’s a loner and only has a couple of loyal friends. Zander invites him into his life and the two of them decide to join forces and try to raise enough money so Jules can go back to London, and Zander can take over the apartment that means so much to him.
They come up with what they regard as a revolutionary idea, a clergy approved porn site. As they work on the site a strange and wonderful friendship develops between them and when Jules pulls together what small resources he has and gathers a very young crew to shoot ‘Your Good Friend.’ the result is this touching and funny mockumentary about the nature of friendship, love, and family.

WHAT’S THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY?
Your Good Friend is what we call a ‘microbe’ production. For just about the cost of a vacation, this movie entered production. As we progressed through the filmmaking process, support for the project grew along with it — and like a microbe that builds upon itself, Your Good Friend slowly, and with the generous support of those who believe in the project, grew into a completed movie now ready for distribution. But this microbe process does not end with distribution. It includes it.
