We're YAMANTAKA // SONIC TITAN, a critically-acclaimed interdisciplinary art collective based in Montreal and Toronto, Canada. We've released a self-recorded and engineered LP that did really well, made a bunch of top-10 lists, performed a few rock operas, built our own video and lighting systems, and toured internationally.
The next thing we want to do is create an interactive rock opera that's playable on your iOS or Android-based mobile device.
We're not a group to shy away from big projects, but we know big projects need preparation too. We spent the last 6 months in the Canadian Film Centre's creative business development lab, ideaBOOST, honing our concept and business plan. We've paired up with Toronto-based indie game developers at Golden Gear Games to bring it to life, and now we're starting software development.

What we need & what you get
Development has begun, but with your support, we'll be able to supercharge our design process, creating more detailed, engaging art, and accelerate the development of our first gameplay prototypes, ensuring the game is fun and well-balanced. We'll give you a chance to provide feedback as we develop the game, and you'll get to hear parts of new songs as we record them for the game and build levels to suit them.
We've got the usual perks you'd expect from a music-focused outfit: advance copies of our next studio LP (CD or vinyl: your pick, plus a digital download), posters, and t-shirts.

The extra-cool stuff? Alaska B, YT//ST drummer and co-founder, is going to be collaborating with Montreal-based jeweller, Morgan Black (of Grimes pussy-ring fame) on a YOUR TASK // SHOOT THINGS collectable adornment, and also producing her very own hot sauce for you to pepper your edibles.

YT//ST lead singer and co-founder Ruby Kato Attwood is offering yoga lessons for our supporters in Montreal and Toronto, and for our Toronto supporters, YT//ST keyboardist Brendan Swanson is offering keyboard lessons as part of one of our perks.

Finally, for the discerning game-lover, we'll be producing a limited number of full-size and mini arcade cabinets loaded with custom-built hardware for you to enjoy and display YOUR TASK // SHOOT THINGS.
We're running an all-or-nothing campaign! If we don't succeed, we'll keep developing the game, but at a much slower pace, and the game art may not be as intricate. But we really want to see this happen, and we hope you do too.

The impact
"Basically the most amazing band on the planet"
– MTV Iggy
This isn't your usual, hollow, band-licensing-out-their-IP-to-a-game-studio marketing exercise. YT//ST loves games, and Golden Gear loves working with established artists who are versed in other media formats. Not only will your financial support be used to develop the digital elements, but also go towards the recording and production of new YT//ST music.
We'll be putting as much love into the game as we put into our album, our costumes, our visual art, or our theatre work. We think you'll love it.
