With or without a bicycle, you can benefit from the flexibility that bicycle sharing provides!
Tackling Space and Cost
Many systems rely on large electronically powered docks, making them difficult to implement in land-scarce Singapore, bringing only cost and inconvenience.
Smart, Mobile Devices
ZaiBike's on-board device makes our bicycle adapt to existing racks at HDBs and MRTs. Our smart devices can enhance the rider's experience in many ways.

Where It All Started
The idea started in Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD). As leisure cyclists, we were excited by the prospect to rent bicycles for night cycling at East Coast Park.
However, renting bicycles in Singapore is not easy, especially at night. Combining our engineering knowledge, we wanted to create an automated bicycle rental system, which led us to discover bicycle sharing systems.
Convinced that Singapore should have one that fits the local context, we began to develop ZaiBike - a smart bicycle sharing system that leverages on existing infrastructure.
Where We Are Now
We are currently in our second pilot trial, garnering interests of over 100 pay users. We will be progressively rolling out our on-board device to the bicycles, and expanding our fleet. We are confident that by May 2016, an operational system will be running in SUTD.![]()
We have an incredible team which excel in different disciplines. Together, we believe that we can make ZaiBike possible to bring convenience to the Singapore community with a low cost, healthy and fun public transport system.

Committed
We feel that this startup has great potential, and only need the green light from you to make this happen. Let us know that a bicycle sharing system is needed in Singapore, and we will heed your call.

ZaiBike requires that we deliver at least 10 bicycles for every 500 people in the service area.
For our launch in SUTD and the nearby districts, we have identified a sustainable supply chain for the components of our device, and bicycles. As such, we are confident to deliver this system by the end of 2016.
The biggest risk comes in launching the system to the public. Through your support, we will be convinced that launching this bicycle sharing system will be worthwhile. We will then be ready to engage our manufacturers from Shenzhen to quickly expand our system islandwide.
But first, give us this opportunity to prove to you that a smart bicycle sharing system will be useful in Singapore.

The following price structure pertains to the expected usage fees following the SUTD launch in May 2016. Do note that the prices mooted are subjected to change.
- First 15 minutes: Free
- First 1 hour: 30¢ for every 15 minutes
- Second 1 hour: 50¢ for every 15 minutes
- Third hour and beyond: 70¢ every 15 minutes
- Night owl bonus: Usage between 10pm and 7am will be half the usual price.
- Session clause: Usage time will continue if the time between signing out from a bicycle and signing in the same, or different bicycle is within 5 minutes.
Here are a few examples:
1 trip: Musa rides a ZaiBike to work, from 8am to 9:10am, lasting 70 minutes. The first 15 mins will be free. The second, third and fourth 15 mins will incur 30¢ each. His final 10 mins will incur 50¢. Thus, Musa pays $1.40 in total.
2 trips: Musa rides a ZaiBike to breakfast, from 8am to 8:15am, lasting 15 minutes. After breakfast, he rides to work from 8:40am to 9:10am, lasting 30 minutes. For both trips, his first 15 mins will be free. Thus, he only pays for his next 15 mins on his second trip: $0.30.
Night trip: Musa and his friends go out for supper on ZaiBikes from 11pm to 1am, lasting 120 minutes. Since he rented the bicycle after 10pm, he will be charged at half the usual price, $0.45 for his first hour, and $1 for his second, totaling $1.45.
How do I use the system?
