Gracie Otto

<p>Gracie Otto is a writer, director, editor and actor.</p> <p>Gracie is currently working on CHALKY, a feature length documentary on legendary British<em>&nbsp;</em>theatre and film producer Michael White. CHALKY details the private and professional life of Michael White who introduced Dame Edna, Yoko Ono, Pina Bausch, John Cleese and many more to British audiences and presented over 300 shows and films including ROCKY HORROR and A CHORUS LINE. Nicole O&rsquo;Donahue is producing the film which will be finished for a 2013 release.</p> <p>The French interior architect Francois Champsaur commissioned Gracie&nbsp;to create three online shorts based on the locations that he had recently designed, featuring a luxury hotel in Paris, a beach house in Marseille and a millionaire&rsquo;s horse auction room at Deauville. She wrote, directed and edited the films; entitled PARFUM DE REGRETS, LA CARBANE and YEARLING respectively.</p> <p>Gracie wrote and directed the short film&nbsp;SEAMSTRESS,&nbsp;which won the award for Best Screenplay in the Jameson Short Film Competition. It screened at Tokyo, where it was a finalist for the Asia Short Shorts Moet Star Award; Monterrey, where it won the Jury Award; and London, Palm Springs, Berlin, LA, Cyprus, Australia and New Zealand film festivals.</p> <p>Earlier short films LA MEME NUIT, TANGO TROIS, BROKEN BEAT and KILL BLONDES have all screened in festivals internationally.</p> <p>Gracie wrote and directed two 30 second television commercial trailers for the Flickerfest Film Festival, based on Jean Luc Godard&rsquo;s BREATHLESS and which she starred in alongside Toby Schmitz.</p> <p>The film THREE BLIND MICE marked Gracie&rsquo;s debut as a feature film editor; she also worked as assistant editor on the feature documentary ROCKET COMPULSION.</p> <p>Gracie is an accomplished actor and has gained critical acclaim for her performances in leading roles in two Australian feature films &ndash; THREE BLIND MICE and LBF (LIVING BETWEEN F**KS) &ndash; both of which have screened at film festivals including SXSW, Sydney, London and Toronto.</p> <p>Gracie has been a finalist for the Inside Film Rising Talent Award and a British Council Realise Your Dreams Grant and in 2011 she won the InStyle &amp; Audi Women of Style Scholarship.</p>
