<p><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;"><strong>Magdalena Albizu</strong> is the writer, director and producer of the documentary film NEGRITA. <span> </span></span></p> <p><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;">Magdalena has extensive film and television production experience, having worked on: 2006 <em>MTV Music Awards</em>, <em>I am Legend</em>, Memphis on the big screen, 50 Cent's <em>Power and Money</em> and PBS. <span> </span>She continues to work in production at Spike TV on various projects, such as: <span> </span>All Access Weekly, Madden 2011 Battlefield, Spare Time, Playbook and Weekend Pre-Game.<span> As one of the founders of Mezcla Media Market, Magdalena created the <strong>Long Island Latino International Film Festival</strong> (LILIFF) in 2004 as a platform for Latino filmmakers to showcase their work to the Long Island community.<span> </span></span> Magdalena is also the former president of the NY Chapter of the National Association of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP) and continues to give back to her community by being actively involved in her church's video ministry. <span> <span> </span></span></span></p> <p><span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;">Born on Long Island, New York to Dominican parents, Magdalena <span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;">received her BA in Sociology</span> from the University of Florida and her MA in Social Work from Adelphi University.<span> </span>Her passions are social issues, <span style="line-height: 115%; font-size: 11pt;">counseling</span>, documentaries and creating narratives.<br /></span></p>
