Media producer, director and editor, M. Asli Dukan, navigates the world gazing through the four sided prism of a tetrahedron, that is… she sees it as width, height, depth and speculative fiction. Her interest in the genres of fantasy, horror and science fiction have led her to produce several music videos, short films and feature length projects inspired by the possibility of “What If?” Her first short sf film, Orishas, brought an ancient powerful African god to the chaos of modern day New York City. Her next short sf film, 73, speculated a future New York, owned and operated by a large corporate entity. Her latest film, now in post-production, M.O.M.M. is inspired by the work of Octavia E. Butler. Her latest projects include the forthcoming feature length documentary, Invisible Universe: a history of blackness in speculative fiction and Skin Folk, a feature length anthology horror film based on the work of award winning writer, Nalo Hopkinson.
