Support Miss Amanda & the Babies

In the summer of 2011, I was working for Lifeway's FUGE camps and watched a video featuring Door of Hope, a ministry to abandoned babies in South Africa. My heart was immediately burdened for this ministry and I felt such an urgency to help. The following year, God opened a door for me to go on a volunteer trip to none other than Door of Hope. Of all the places for the Lord to open a door for me to go, it was the place I had dreamed of going since watching that video.

After that trip, I was hooked! And I knew I would go back. In 2013, I went to South Africa and served at Door of Hope for almost 6 months. I held babies. I changed diapers. I encouraged the aunties (the women in charge of the baby houses.) I loved on those babies and they stole my heart. I returned to Georgia but those little ones have not left my heart and now I feel God calling me back to the place my heart loves so much. I will be there at least a year and possibly more depending upon God's direction. I will be there to do whatever Door of Hope needs me to do. The daily duties will consist of caring for, changing, feeding, and playing with the babies. It will also mean the challenge of coordinating programs to help meet the needs of the children physically, mentally, and spiritually. The work isn't easy and the days are long but the reward is amazing. The love I will give the children will have a lasting impact on their lives. Volunteers play an important role in the success of caring for the children of Door of Hope. As the Door of Hope's financial needs grow they realize the importance of relying on volunteers and staff to keep the ministry running smoothly and effectively.

But here's the deal, I need YOU! If you know me, you know how hard it is for me to ask for help and support but I know I can't do this on my own. I need the help and support of my Jesus family to be able to go back to South Africa and serve these babies so will you help me? Will you be Jesus to abandoned babies? And will you support me so I can follow that calling to be His hands and feet to these babies in South Africa?

What We Need

I have a donor willing to match up to $1,000!! To go to South Africa to serve at Door of Hope will take $10,000 for the year. Fortunately I've already raised about $6,100 so I have $3,900 to left to go. January 25th will be the ending date of this campaign.

So what would happen with money if we exceeded this goal? Great question, I'm glad you asked! If the $3,900 goal is exceeded, that money will go into an account that would be used in case of emergencies or if needs arise at Door of Hope for the babies, that money could be used.

How You Can Help

Here's what I need from YOU to make this campaign a success:
1. GIVE! Every gift, no matter how big or small is so important to meeting this goal.
