Short Summary

100 to 1 is a project that aims to deliver a full feature film in 100 hours, two weekends. The basic outline of the project is simple.

  • We crowdfund a bunch to cover some costs. (This part right now)
  • At the end of the crowdfunding, we'll draw at random from a list of genres and plot elements then write a full feature based on those criteria.
  • Once the script is complete we'll plan and organize the sets, locations, cast, props, etc.
  • Then we'll film the weekends of Oct 16th-18th and 23-25th.

Wait, What? Back The Truck Up!

That's right, we plan to get everything in the can by Oct 25th. Editing and post production will take some time after that but the bulk of the work we plan to get done in just over three months.

That Seems Pretty Ballsy

It is. We're definitely in the agreement that this is kind of a crazy project. What makes us think we can pull it off? Experience.

For the last ten years several key members of the EATM group have been participating in the Edmonton International Film Festival's 24One contest. An intense contest that requires teams to write, film, and edit a 6 minute short in 24 hours.

How does that help with this project? Timing. We're accustomed to working with tight deadlines to get scenes shot and captured. We've done the math and we're confident that we can make it happen.

What genres are you picking from?

  • Space Opera
  • 70s Dystopia
  • Slasher Horror
  • Slipstream
  • Film Noir
  • 80s
  • Psychological Thriller
  • Occult
  • Fantasy
  • Found Footage
  • Post Apocolyptic
  • Exploitation
  • Murder Mystery
  • Monster Horror
  • Spy Film
  • Barbarian
  • Survival
  • Action/ Adventure
  • Christmas/Holiday

Ok, But Who Are You?

EATM comprises itself of a unique mix of individuals.

Tyson Lenz: Creative Director. Bringing most of the ideas to the table, Tyson oversees the overall look and feel to a project. Ensuring that we keep everything within the original intent of the project.

Michael Williams: Executive Producer.Logistics planner to projects, Michael ensures that projects are realistic in nature and that all the working cogs required come together to make the magic.

Evan Adnams: Director of Photography. Rounding out the edges, Evan visually assembles the teams ideas into something tangible for the senses.

Below is a play list of work the team has worked on, starting with the Best Director and Best Actor winning from the 2012 Edmonton International Film Festival 24One contest.

You Want My Money? Why?

Making a movie isn't cheap, that's no surprise, but we're hoping we can make this with whatever contribution you can make.

The costs are simple enough:

  • Camera, lighting, etc for two weekends: $600
  • Food, cutlery, etc for two weekends: $300
  • Locations, Props, etc: Everything else
Ultimately the more we make the better we can make the finer details of the movie. With a hopeful minimum of the equipment anything above and beyond that will help increase the film's production quality.

But What Do I Get?

You want to donate but not sure how much or what you get in return? On the right is a list of contribution levels along with their associated gifts of appreciation. Here's a few details not mentioned in the perks:
  • In order to get PayPal donation ability in North America we have to have tangible perks, that means there's a physical object to each one. As a base, if the Perk isn't already a physical object than we've added a post card to each one. If you live in Canada or the United States, then you don't have to worry. Unfortunately, because of mailing costs, anyone outside of North America will have a $2 shipping cost tacked on your contribution.
  • Any perk that is location based, Acting or Premier seat, is your responsibility to get there. Mostly that just means if you live in Lisbon and you contribute to have a Cameo then you have to make the flight accommodations. We might be able to give you a spot on the couch if you want a place to stay.
