12 Sites in Maine You May Not Have Heard of is a photography book with description of the locations, the best times in the year to visit them and trail maps to get to the location if it does require a longer walk than one mile.
Why those 12 particular sites?
Maine is a great attraction for its breathtaking Wildlife Refuges and State Parks. But there are many hidden treasures or ones that aren't apparent. When I first explained my project, I received suggestions of popular places like Baxter, Acadia and Reid State Park. But there are many more out there that I would qualify just as worth-seeing.
Here is the list:
Mount Bigelow
Gulf Hagas
Moxie Falls
Coos Canyon
Tumbledown Mountain
Saddleback and the Ridge
Camden Hills State Park
Dedham Mountain
Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park
Quoddy Head State Park
Penobscot Narrows Bridge
Horse Mountain to Traveler Mountain
Photographs
I would like them to be printed in high quality and spreading on two pages each to maximize the visual experience of the photographic book.
Information
All info about the location will be printed on each side folds. They will fold back inside the book.
Importance
This final project is for my "Graphic Design II" class. It is a major project that will count towards my Graphic Design minor at the University of Maine and as well as my final professional portfolio for prospect job opportunities.
Time Frame
This project has to be completed and printed by December 10th. I would like to start hiking and shooting as soon as possible before it snows. I would love to take a few photographs once there will be snow on the mountains as well.
Budget and Cost Breakdown
Gas: $364
Meals for day trips: $100
Equipment rental: $40
Color Book & Poster Printing: $100
$604 rounded to a $600 total cost of the project.
