The Residents!
Those legendary faceless weirdos that are mostly associated with the eyeball heads and top hats! They've been confusing and enchanting us for over 40 years and are still going. I bought my first Residents cassette when I was 13 and have been a huge fan and vinyl collector ever since. Being a vinyl guy I have a wish list of old Residents albums that need to make it onto vinyl for the first time and this album was at the top. The only version of the 13th Anniversary Show ever released on vinyl was the Live In Japan show which was edited down to a single LP. Our Live In Holland release is an excellent 66 minute show with 8 different songs from the Live In Japan LP including the eight and a half minute version of Walter Westinghouse. Recorded live to 24 track tape on October 25, 1986 but the show was only released on CD in the Netherlands. Now it's the 30th anniversary of the 13th anniversary and I'm giving it the deluxe vinyl treatment with hand numbered gate fold jackets, two different color vinyl editions, and some cool, never seen live photos from the Cryptic Corporation vaults! The amazing Snakefinger Lithman is on guitar and the material ranges from 1971 to 1985 but often in a twisted, new arrangement. One of the best live albums ever recorded! I'm thrilled to work with one of my all time favorite bands and help this incredible show finally make it onto a double LP for us vinyl freaks.
Expensive Project!
Besides pressing vinyl for my own bands for 15 years I also released vinyl editions of Snakefinger Live In Australia 1981 and Renaldo & The Loaf: Behind Closed Curtains (recorded in 1978 and shelved for 35 years). This 13th Anniversary LP is easily the most expensive project I have taken on. I like to press quality records and everything adds up fast. Gate folds, two different deluxe color editions, 2xLPs, vinyl mastering, plastic sleeves, shipping, paying for licensing all the cover songs, printing download codes, and paying The Residents a fair amount means I have to sell more than half of these records just to cover my basic costs PLUS Indiegogo factors your shipping into the goal amount for some reason so I have to adjust for that and paypal and Indiegogo fees are killer. Let's just play it safe and sell it out right away! There are only 400 copies available to order! Tell all your friends and fellow vinyl collectors! I want to pay my bills and who knows, maybe something else is coming really soon? Support these limited edition releases and more will come!
