Short Summary

The 2015 Iron Dog Race Team of Ray Chvastasz and Chris Carroll would greatly appreciate your support and sponsorship in our third attempt to win the longest, toughest snowmobile race in the world. The Iron Dog Race is over 2000 miles of the roughest terrain and weather conditions imaginable across Alaska. It is a week long race starting in Anchorage traveling mountains, rivers, lakes and trails to Ruby where we take the Yukon river, then up the coast, across the ocean  and head west to Nome. In Nome we will have a hold with a restart before running back down to the Yukon and finishing the race in Fairbanks. It is extremely hard to describe the magnitude of the race, sportsmanship and how it brings communities together. Both Chris and I are proud to be in such an elite group of racers known as "Iron Doggers".

Last year, after starting in 22nd position, worked our way up to the top 10 before a nasty high speed encounter with a creek bed caused us to scratch out of the race with a fractured arm at the half way point in Nome. I encourage everyone that is slightly interested in this to check out the race details at irondog race.org or pictures on google and videos on youtube.

What We Need & What You Get

As close to this goal as we are, we still need sponsorship to help in the cost of running this great race. An estimated cost of running this race is a little over $25000 each, little over $50000 for the team. We do have some sponsorship from local companies, family members, friends, coworkers and have invested a lot of our own but still need your support in hitting our target. It costs $7000 for entry fee, $3500 for air support, $20000 for the race sleds, $20000 for the practice sleds and about $3000 in misc parts.

We will put each and everyone's name in sticker on our snowmobiles. We will send everyone a signed picture/poster of team #5 and their snowmobiles at the finish line. You will be able to follow us during the race on the internet via GPS tracking on the Iron Dog web site and on KTUU(ch 2 news in Alaska) and on our Iron Dog Race Team #5 Facebook page. Like us on Facebook!

The Impact

We can not explain how much your support will impact our race team! We could not even think about competing in a race of this magnitude without the support and sponsorship of all the great people that have supported  us in the past!

Risks & Challenges

Ray and Chris were both born to race snowmobiles! With the extreme conditions, high speeds and rugged terrain we have learned to overcome these obstacles and adapt for them from our lessons learned in past race experiences.

Other Ways You Can Help

We ask to get the word out and make some noise about our team, tell friends and family members to follow us and cheer us on as we live our dream!

Thank you for you time and support!
