About The Project
Louie's Brother Peter is a project that's been brewing for a little over a year. I wanted a piece that could serve as a love letter to South Brooklyn along as a directorial debut that has the tone and style that made me want to make films in the first place. The story hits home in more ways than one. In many ways I identify with Peter as the underdog or the unlikely survivor. Being able to complete the film would already be a huge accomplishment.
Vocationally I'm a Cinematographer on indie projects as well as documentaries and I'm very happy and blessed to do so. This move to the director's chair is a unique opportunity to express everything I've ever wanted from indie filmmaking. Good crews. Fun stories. A Pam Grier tribute and a little bit of fake blood. Please consider partnering with me and my team and bring this film to life.
- Steve Carmona
Inclusion Statement
The story is diverse. It takes place in gentrified Brooklyn and the film represents that. Our lead character's are Italian brothers one with a black girlfriend who has a Chinese neighbor. Our director being a Puerto Rican born and raised in Brooklyn is telling the story of the reality of the city.
