Meet The Team
My name is Emmanuel Christian and in many ways four halves make a whole is my story. Am I an immigrant of ambiguous origin who was forced to live with siblings for a huge inheritance? No, no I am not. I was born in Brooklyn but raised in Ghana. I didn’t move back to the US until college and when I did move back I had to rediscover my mother, navigate a new dad (and to a small extent an old one), two new siblings, my blackness as an American and identity in general. “4 Halves Make a Whole” is a show about family and race but it’s also a show with characters that happen to be a family and happen to be different races. Furthermore, It’s also a show that doesn’t take itself too seriously because if there’s one thing I’ve learned in my life, it’s that sometimes you just have to laugh.
I’ve been in the entertainment industry for about five years now, primarily in front of the camera. This project is my first production..
My name is Tamara Tonge and I am Co-Producer, Co-Creator and Co-Star of “4 Halves Makes a Whole”. Film making has always been an interest of mine. I've always been attracted to anything that involves strangers coming together as one to create something great. Back in May, I found myself sitting on my living room couch watching the web series “Awkward Black Girl” created by Issa Rae. It had been my second time watching the series, but this time around I decided to research a little about the series. To my surprise, in a nutshell, “Awkward Black Girl” was just an idea that Issa Rae had and eventually made the decision to create and share with the world. She's a black woman who was inspired to create a web series and she simply went out and did it. Now, fast forward to 2017, she is one of the people on a rapidly growing list of successful black women who other aspiring entertainment industry members can look up to. I couldn't help but wonder one thing. Why am I just sitting on the couch? In that moment, I was both inspired and determined to make the move from admiring filmmakers, to becoming one. “Four Halves Make a Whole” has been nothing short of a labor of love since it's fruition and I can't wait to see it through to the end.
