The Art Marathon Festival is a celebration of contemporary art held each August in St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador and is organized by Eastern Edge Gallery! We are a not for profit artist-run centre committed to exhibiting contemporary art in diverse media.
WHAT IS THE ART MARATHON FESTIVAL: DREAMWORLDS?
The AMF features local, national, and international artists who present unique performances of their work, share skills in public workshops, take part in provoking discussions, and participate in a 24 hour marathon of live art making.
For the first time, the Art Marathon Festival will have a core focus: dreamworlds. This year, we are inviting artists to explore the worlds of their dreams – utopias, dystopias, fantasies, and delusions. For generations artists have provided new models of thinking, acting and being. From designing our cities to engaging one another, artists suggest and possibilities emerge. Ideas tumble from the dream world to the real world.
