Summary
My name is Fre Gordon and I've been a musician all my life. By day I have 35 years of strong business experience as Director of Marketing for a nationally known corporation, executive officer and/or owner of a few production companies and a very active background in computer graphics and media buying. Talents which I now utilize for 5th Century Music along with my wife and son who is about to become a father himself.
The "other music store" - 5th Century Music was founded with the expressed purpose of introducing and offering a wide variety of quality "A" class instruments the "superstores" and chains don't really acknowledge or bother with. Walk into (or log-onto) any of those stores and you find 50-75% of their guitars are from three manufactures: Fender, Gibson (Epiphone) and Ibanez offering a few dozen versions of a handful of established models. There are dozens upon dozens of extremely high quality and more price friendly guitar manufacturers in the market which get the visibility and respect at 5th Century Music generally reserved to the aforementioned big three.
We've built a great site (www.5thcenturymusic.com) and have been authorized by some of the worlds best known and loved brands and approved, pending our opening a "brick and mortar" location, by dozens more - and that's why we're here. We need funds for opening our physical location in historic Saint Augustine, Florida. Every cent raised goes towards inventory, prepping and opening the showroom and advertising both the website and stores' Grand Opening.
What We Need & What You Get
- The total amount of funding sought is $60,000 to be used for inventory, advertising, grand opening and most importantly, adding those brands that require us to have a physical location before they finalize our being authorized dealers.
- We don't expect people to just throw money at us so depending on the level of participation you receive 5th Century Music guitar pics, CD's, T-shirts, deep discounts, gift certificates and guitars!!
- We are seeking $60,000 but could realistically open with $15,000-$20,000 with a much lower inventory adding brands and product at a much more staggered rate which of course would stunt our growth. Inversely $100,000 to $120,000 would double our inventory and advertising and help sky rocket us through the next three levels!
The Impact
Until we open the physical location we cannot offer many products and brands on our web site including our latest manufacturer to climb on board - Martin guitars! We currently are authorized dealers for upwards of fifty companies with as many more approving us pending our opening the physical store. That coupled with the ability to quickly fill orders with a larger inventory and get the word out to more musicians with a larger advertising budget, our potential is unlimited!
