Dearest Friends & Family,

For my undergraduate senior thesis at Purchase College, I am adapting and directing A Children's Tragedy, a performance experiment based on Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening, the 1890 play that has served as a poetic critique on youth, education, and humanity for the past 123 years.

In collaboration with my fellow seniors Jacob Louchheim and Madeline Moss, along with a passionate force of actors and designers from the Theatre Design/Technology and Theatre & Performance programs at Purchase College, I have worked extensively in classes and rehearsals to turn a simple idea into a living, breathing piece of work. My intent is not only to satisfy the requirements of the Theatre & Performance Directing concentration, but also to truly experience the collaborative, creative, and intellectual challenges that theatre offers.

As with any major project, production costs are inevitable and in order that we achieve the most dynamic set and costume construction possible we ask for a kind donation that will help us raise $600 for this project. In an effort to thank you for your contributions, we have several rewards that will deepen your connection with all of those involved in creating this piece. I am incredibly grateful for this opportunity and hope to see you at the show!

Thank you for your graciousness,

Sincerely,

Dena Kopolovich
