A Death Perspective - LOGLINE
Two sisters reunite at the wake of their father, and struggle to understand each others perspective on his death.
SYNOPSIS
Everyone goes through hard times, but not every person deals in the same way. When Don Barath dies he leaves two daughters at opposite ends in life. Daisy, optimistic and accepts that problems, setbacks, and tragedies such as death happen in life. She believes in happy endings and will wear a smile to convince herself and those around her anything is possible. Leah, on the other hand is pessimistic. Expecting the worst, she is rarely disappointed and expects everything in her life to turn out badly. Surrounded by a colourful array of guests, Daisy and Leah reunite at the wake of Don’s death and come face to face with the realities the impact he’s had on each of their lives. Smiling or crying, blessing or a curse, remembering the good times or dwelling upon the missing void that was left when his death occurred, A Death Perspective tackles the good and bad in life and how different personality types view death.
We are looking to raise between $2000-2500 for sourcing professional Sound Design, Colour Grading, Music Scores and entries into festivals. All funds raised will contribute to the post production of this project. If we are able to reach our goal this will certainly help move the project ahead quicker, and help provide us with some great platforms to get the film out to audiences. Should we not reach our goal, we'll continue the fight as filmmakers to do what needs to be done to get the film out. Your support is a crucial contribution and could mean money invested could also support us for our next project and ultimately provide more opportunities to create real stories with exciting new actors and filmmakers.

This project is the first of a series of new short & feature length films to be produced by Diversity Pictures. The more reach we have to wider audiences becomes imperative for helping us build a fan base that will not only assist us in future financial backing, but also attract new cast and crew to future projects. With this film, our CEO is hoping to enter several labs with prestigious filmmaker organisations such as Sundance, Film Independent and more.
The impact of having strong projects is imperative. We need to ensure the final post production elements are put into place, to help make the film of the highest standard possible.
There are risks and challenges in creating any film. For us, the challenges have continued to present themselves throughout the project. Especially financially. With the time limitations we had for the shoot as well, it was incredible for us to cover the content we did in the 16 hours we had set aside. Many people donated their time FOC because they believed in the project and they believe in the future of Diversity Pictures. This meant we had to work even harder to ensure we fit around their availability and resources.
With all of the above obstacles, the finished project is shaping up to be an incredible piece. We are now just missing some final key elements. Colour grading and sound design are important elements that help bring a film together. Ultimately it unifies various collaborative efforts with different equipment used in the production. We have some incredible talented professionals in line to work with us, but in order to seek their assistance we need to ensure they can be paid for their time. Their worth and contribution to the project will benefit all involved.
Some people just can't contribute money and we understand that but that doesn't mean they can't help:
And that's all there is to it.
