I am Daniela Soledade, a musician from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I was born and raised in a musical family, growing up with Samba, Bossa Nova, and other Brazilian rhythms and influences.
My grandfather, Paulo Soledade, helped create Brazilian music foundations, composing with Tom Jobim, Vinícius de Moraes, Toquinho, Baden Powell and others in the pioneering phase of bossa nova. My father Paulinho is an artist-producer whose resume includes work with Ivan Lins and Gilberto Gil. The Bossa Nova runs deep in my veins!
I grew up in Rio in a family of musicians, basically, on both sides--artists, actresses, ballerinas, musicians. And I grew up in recording studios. My father would ask me to sing on whatever he was working on, such as TV shows for the main network in Brazil, called Rede Globo.
The intimate, romantic aesthetic of true Bossa Nova is what I'm focusing on. When I think of bossa nova, I think of Joao Gilberto and this really quiet aesthetic. When I sing these songs I am trying to inhabit a unique, perfect moment that the musicians and the listeners share.
Making this album has always been a dream of mine! After opening a small business with my husband and having my two beautiful daughters, now is the perfect time to follow my dreams! It’s my number one project and I am putting everything into it.

What We Need & What You Get
We need the financial support to make the album and promote it. It takes money to make an album because we need to pay for the musicians, the recording studio, the production, mixing, mastering, artwork, and publicity and promotion.
I am hoping to have enough pre-orders of CD's, LP's and other perks to raise $25,000. It sounds like a lot but it's really only 1000 CD's and a few LP's:)
Here is a breakdown of expenses:

We are doing the actual recording of "A Moment Of You" in mid April and have assembled a team of industry veterans to help launch the project.
I'll be posting updates as pre-production continues and recording begins so you can stay up to date on the process and hear some of what we are doing.
Guitarist Nate Najar is arranging and producing the album and I can't imagine working with anybody else! Nate really understands the feeling and aesthetic of Bossa Nova.
We have GREAT perks for this project, including a digital download of the album, autographed CD's and autographed audiophile vinyl LP's of "A Moment Of You" AND we also have some unique and fun perks to share with you! For instance, Nate and I will come to your home and cook a dinner party for you and your guests and then give a private concert! You can also get handwritten copies of sheet music and lyrics or guitar lessons!
"A Moment Of You" will be released on CD and digital on September 6, but when you support the project, you get the album in July! The Audiophile Vinyl LP will be ready in November.

Risks & Challenges
There are so many deserving artists hoping interested listeners will give them a chance. Many very fine albums don't ever get heard! One of our main challenges is getting the album heard after it has been made, and that's where publicity expenses come in - one of the reasons why we made this crowdfunding campaign:)
As pre-production continues and then the actual recording happens, I'll be posting updates and I really hope you like what you hear and want to lend your support.
