We use only the best vegetable-tanned, full grain leather.

WHAT DOES "VEGETABLE-TANNED" MEAN?

Vegetable tanning is the traditional tanning method refined by the Spanish, Italians and French during the Renaissance. Today it makes up only 10% of leather produced. Unaided by potent chemicals, vegetable tanning takes much longer than chrome tanning (several weeks/months vs a day). As a result, it can be more expensive…but it’s worth it. Vegetable-tanned leather looks natural, smells sweet and develops a unique patina over time.

WHAT IS "FULL GRAIN" LEATHER?

The top surface of a hide, or the grain, is the strongest part of the hide. "Full grain" means that the surface has not been buffed or sanded to remove imperfections. It is much longer-lasting and durable than top-grain leather (which has been buffed or sanded) or split-grain leather (which doesn't have any grain at all). Top-grain leather is more prevalent on the market because it's cheaper to buy low-quality leather and buff off the defects than to buy quality hides.

Q: How do I select multiple perks that aren't an existing Bundle?
A: Simply add up all of the relevant contribution amounts, select the most expensive of your perks, and enter in your custom total contribution amount. We'll send you an email after you order to confirm your selection of items and colours.

Q: How much is shipping?
A: Shipping is free to anywhere in the world!

NOTES

Delivery time: For our first pre-order campaign, we were marginally late with delivery of the first batch of products (~1-2 weeks) as we had some issues with our box manufacturer. However, the first time is always the roughest, and we've since straightened out our supply chain. We're confident that we'll be able to fulfill according to schedule. We'll also try our best to deliver ahead of schedule.

Duty/VAT charges: If you live outside of the US, you will be responsible for any applicable duty/VAT charges.

Customs: Some countries are known for being very slow with customs, and you probably know if you live in one. We're sorry that we can't put a magic stamp on our packages to help them get through faster.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS

Hi! We are Roman and Jenn, the founders of Linjer.

We started Linjer because we ourselves struggled to find high-quality leather goods that didn't break the bank. At some point we learned of the outrageous markups that luxury brands place on their leather goods.

We thought: why don’t we start our own brand, sell directly to customers and cut out all the needless costs? Then more people (including ourselves and our friends) could actually dream of owning beautiful, well-made leather products.

So we did. We spent a couple years preparing our first collection, which we launched on Indiegogo in October. We met our funding goal of $50,000 within 48 hours. The support from our backers enabled us to place our first orders for leather and fund our first production run.

We've already shipped many orders and we're delighted by the enthusiastic reception from our early backers. We're really excited to share our second collection with you!
