Abandoned In Mexico is a documentary about issues orphans face in Mexico. The documentary will explore Mexico's drug trafficking and child labor problems while revealing how group homes like Grace Children's Home are helping Mexico's abandoned youth. Highlighting Yugo Ministries, Westgate Church, Trinity Church, and Grace Children's Home Director George and Stacy Palau's vision for Mexico's orphan

The documentary demographical target consists of the social conscious and faith based audiences with a wide range of social backgrounds.

Abandoned In Mexico's planned run time is a documentary length of 45 to 60 minutes with an initial distribution through film festivals, churches, social networks and Netflix. Abandoned In Mexico takes an unconventional marketing approach by enlightening mass media and social networks about the documentary's objective to bring awareness and raise money to provide a safe haven for Mexico's abandoned children.

The mise-en-scène of Abandoned In Mexico will flow similar to the style of Dateline and 20/20, using a narrator and possible on screen personality to assist in moving the story forward.

Our goal is to reach a minimum of $35,000 which will guarantee a full production equipped with a dedicated crew, industry standard rental equipment, celebrity voice-actor, travel expenses from the Bay Area to Mexico, post-production editing; coloring correction; color grading; sound design; sound mixing; and music composing. With this budget, we will guarantee a distribution strategy that will further the project beyond film festivals using Distribber as our online aggregator.

Pre-production is happening at this moment and will continue on till the end of February of 2014 which will commence principal photography. On February 26th 2014 our dedicated film crew will leave from San Jose CA and arrive in Tijuana Mexico ten hours later to begin the journey of shining light on Mexico's orphans. The production phrase of Abandoned In Mexico will wrap 7 days later ending on the first week of March. Post-production will then take place for three months with distribution in tow but prepared ahead of time.

Producer and Director

Three years ago Scott Dixon embarked on a career path that would feed his humanitarian spirit. Scott believed he found it through filmmaking. While others were figuring out how to get wealthy, his desire was to simply make a difference by using film as his medium. Scott Dixon started his career as a producer/director volunteering at KQED, a bay area public television. Scott soon realized he had a passion for film and began pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in film at The Art Institute of California- Silicon Valley. Scott utilizes his business experience of running a consulting firm by providing insight to companies media needs. Scott has produced and directed a number of commercials, public service announcements, music videos, and short films.

Producer

Jonas Balili won the 'Best Director' and 'Best Picture' awards at the 2013 AICA Silicon Valley Film Festival for his film- 'Interconnected'. With a BS in Digital Film and Video Production, Jonas has produced cinematic gold with companies such as Big Time Wrestling and has worked for production companies such as El Teatro Campesino and Fuji TV.

Director of Photography

Cony Manriquez is an industry veteran that professionalizes in filming commercials,  films, television, web series, and public service announcements. Cony has experience with filming abroad which will prove to be a huge asset during the production of Abandoned In Mexico. Recent highlights of Cony's career are working on NBC's 2013 Dew Tour, Reality T.V. Show "The Pitch", and The Food Network cooking shows "Reinventing the Meal" and "Easy Chinese."

What if we don't reach our goal?

If we do not reach our goal, we will find alternative ways to make this happen. Whether it's fundraising through benefit concerts, church support or car washes. We are dedicated in making Abandoned In Mexico a reality.

The truth is we believe our campaign will touch hearts and be a success well beyond our dreams. 50% of the money raised above our original goal of $35,000 will go to help provide education for the children at Grace Children's Home and the remainder will go to campaign fees and enhancements in raising the production value of Abandoned In Mexico Documentary.
