I'm Jen and I want to introduce you to Afrika Tikkun.

For those of you who know me, you know I am a passionate results-oriented entrepreneur. You may not know that I spent the formative years of my childhood in South Africa and it is a second home to me.

The systemic challenges facing South Africa are enormous, but I have found one organization that is making a real difference: Afrika Tikkun.

For over twenty years, Afrika Tikkun has perfected a "cradle-to-career" development model that literally supports children from birth into adulthood. At six "Centres of Excellence" across South Africa, Afrika Tikkun:

Provides support to new mothers and early childhood development programming from birth to age six;
Provides learning support, cultural and sports programming from grades 3-12
Offers 19-35 year-olds through career readiness training, entrepreneurship development, bursaries and job placement

The Afrika Tikkun model offers a holistic programme of education, culture, art and sport. The sports programme is especially important for keeping children, especially boys, engaged in the community.

In honor of Nelson Mandela Day, I am committing myself to raising £10,000 to underwrite Afrika Tikkun's football programme for FIVE YEARS. It's a big goal, but one I know will make a huge difference in the lives of South African children who need it the most. I hope you will join me!
