Afrosonics music speaks of unity of all people. In a world of negative messages Afrosonics represents a collective, positive hope, and want to bring a harmonious voice to as many people as we can. Here's the plan:
- Get the music on the radio in multiple cities
- Spend some time on the road.
- Continue working with the New American community to tell their stories through music
Since we are a large band this is no small feat, it is expensive to tour and we haven't built the kind of following outside Boise to demand much money for performing. Getting your music on the radio requires money as well. If you want to do it right you need to hire someone who gets records on the radio for a living, and like anyone who is good at what they do, these folks don't come cheap.
What We Need & What You Get
We have hired Distiller promo in Portland Or. to promote our record, they specialize in college and community radio stations and are very experienced with our style. They have promoted the Dap Tone label (Sharon Jones & the Dap Kings, The Budos Band) and helped them become the success they are. Our hope is for people to hear the music, but bigger picture we want to get on the radar of local promoters who will help us get good a good live show in their town. These kind of people are frequently involved with college/community radio. Distiller is not cheap, but they are good. - $2,500

Taking 7-9 people on the road, transporting them, feeding them, and giving them a place to sleep poses a number of challenges that make touring cost prohibitive so that's why we need to put some money away to get ready for the festival season in the summer. Festivals provide great exposure but don't always have a large budget for bands, that's why we're turning to you for help getting from place to place without starving or running out of gas. We have a number of shows already and more are coming through all the time. One good perk is we'll put you on the guest list for a festival show, so if we end up at Coachella or something, you can come as our guest. (Don't get too excited about Coachella though, we're most likely doing much smaller, but no less fun affairs) - $5000
Vinyl records are back! And why not? They're awesome! Older folks (like a lot of us) fondly remember the experience you had getting a new album and putting it on the record player, checking out the cover art, memorizing the lyric sheet, what's not to love about vinyl? It's a chance to make a bigger artwork and a cool inner sleeve. All that printing is expensive and vinyl record presses are all but non-existent so they are at a premium cost, but so worth it to have a serious piece of art to go with our music. If you get this perk allow up to 6 months for delivery. - $5,000
Some of the current and past band members have come to this country as former refugees and thankfully, they brought all this great music with them. We want to continue to work with these new Americans and give them the resources to tell their stories through music. We want to record their music, make CDs and get the music in the online marketplace so the music can spread into the community at large and some of these incredible stories can be heard. Also, it helps to integrate these artists into this country and make their transition easier. - $2,500
The Impact
Afrosonics have been spreading the message of multi-culturalism and One Love for years and we will continue to do so until we are unable, your help will determine the size and scope of the message we can spread. In a world that seeks to constantly divide us into this group or that group, Afrosonics say we are stronger and better when we are all one. If you've been to an Afrosonics show you know that we don't just pay lip service to this idea, we feel it and we'll make you feel it too!
