The Impact
I am inspired by the uniqueness of our stories. We are an amazing and colorful people who are often dulled by societal norms so in my work I pride myself on authenticity. My characters talk like real people. They live and work like real people. They have conflicts that are relatable. And they are every beautiful hue of brown. So as a filmmaker, it is my goal to represent for MY people and create things they can feel good about.
Risks & Challenges
There are always risks that come with an undertaking such as this, but with your support we'll be able to skate right through most of these issues. Last year, I wrote, directed and produced a web series on YouTube that has garnered nearly 1 million organic views. I shot the entire series without a crew. Sometimes I shot full episodes by myself. For Aftermath, we are fortunate enough to have a full crew locked in to make an efficient and smooth shoot.
