AGAINST ALL ODDS - Overview
Everyone dreams of making it. But how about those of us with poor and complicated backgrounds?
We will ask to our Dream Ambassadors - relevant public figures, symbol of personal success and the social mobility that defied the statistics of our society.

The necessity for this documentary comes from both my personal experience and the current social climate.
Social mobility has never been more difficult than it is now, and the gap between the rich and everyone else has never been greater. It is the moment to address the questions: how do we make it? And does the American Dream still exist?
- I am Soraya Azzabi, the director of Against All Odds, and
I experienced true poverty, as the third daughter of a single mother, immigrating to Montreal from Casablanca, Morocco, when I was 8 years old. I know what it means to go to school hungry and have 1 bed for 4 people. And feel the shame of it all.
Kevin Hart said that if you rose to the top and you don't share how you did it with the rest of the World, you are doing the World a disservice. This documentary will above all inform on the steps that renowned examples took to get to the top, inspiring social change and, hopefully, bettering lives.
Our Campaign Goals
We need your help!
- For a feature length film, our film budget is contained, but we still really need your support to make this happen! The main expenses are equipment rental, travelling expenses (for interviews,) and post production.
- We deeply appreciate your contribution. In fact, look up the perks! But more than our gratitude, you can take pride in partaking in the creation of a film that is both fun and useful to many people. It's their thank you that will be most valuable to all of us.
- We will use the all funding towards the completion of the film, adapting to the final total budget. For instance, if we will not have the budget to visit the interviewees, we can consider remote interviews, and still get the message across.

We would like you to consider these facts, which are the reasons why we are so passionate about this projects:
- 13.2% (39.8 million) people in the U.S.A., and specifically 23,1% of all children, live in relative poverty and similar data can be found for most economically advanced countries. Almost 1 child out of 4 children might be left behind. There is a need to raise awareness on the subject of poverty in economically advanced countries and take action. This is what our Dream Ambassadors will do.
- In many fields, high-profile figures have proven that one can make it in spite of the background. But no one has ever documented the step-by-step process of how this was possible. Sharing such tools would be of paramount importance for a wide range of people who are still struggling, to inspire and empower!
