ÁIGI was started in 2017 by three watch enthusiasts from Norway.
Since then we have sold thousands of quality battery-powered (quartz) watches.
We have now spent over a year on the development of the ÁIGI automatic dive watches.
We're not going to lie, like a lot of other watch brands, we have found inspiration in some of the most iconic dive watches ever made. But we've also added our details and "ÁIGI-fied" the design through our own vision of what a great dive watch should look like. And as in all our previous designs, these watches also have a continuous inspiration from Scandinavian nature and minimalism.
But what really stands out most about this project is the quality you get on the watch compared to what you pay for it. An unbeatable price for a high-quality automatic dive watch.
Our profits on these watches are minimal, so why are we doing this? This is a branding stunt on our part. We want to show that we can create high-quality automatic watches and get them out to you watch lovers. This way we can get a foothold in a new segment, which will benefit us in the longer term. So enjoy the best deal ever.

Both have white date windows. Both have a brushed finish on the case and strap. We have put a lot of thought into the buckle, so it contains the possibility of micro-adjustment of length so that it fits perfectly and comfortably on your wrist. It also contains double locks to ensure that it does not fall off.

Specifications, let's first talk about the very heart of the watch - the movement.
We had some specific qualities we looked for in our dive watches:
It had to be automatic.
It had to be very affordable so that your price is not too high.
It had to be a "workhorse movement". A tried and true workhorse movement is made with a simple/minimalist design that does the job efficiently with as few moving parts as possible, while still being effective at maintaining a track record of being reliable and acceptably accurate.
It needed to have a hacking functionality (which means the second-hand stops when setting the time, allowing you to set the time more accurately).
This did not leave us with a large number of choices. With a price range in mind for the finished watch, the good Swiss movements were excluded. Other movements we could have used did not have the hacking feature we wanted. Thus, the Miyota 8215 movement was not an option (Miyota is the supplier we use for all our quartz watches).
Our choice fell on Seiko's NH35A movement. A very robust movement that is reliable and acceptably accurate. It also has hacking functionality and is reasonably priced.
Water Resistance
When it came to the water resistance, there were no other alternatives for us than a minimum of 20 ATMs, which corresponds to the pressure in still water at a depth of 200 meters. Of course, it is possible to increase to 30 or 50 ATM, but it would only increase the price for you as a customer without really having so much practical significance for most of you.
Glass / Crystal
We have used a scratch-resistant sapphire glass with AR (anti-reflective) coating on all our watches. So, on our first dive watch, we had no other choice than to choose the best. On these watches we use a scratch-resistant sapphire glass with a blue anti-reflection coating on the inside. The reason we want to have the coating on the inside is that the coating can be scratched if it is attached to the outside. It does not provide as much reflection protection when used on the inside but still does the job more than adequately.
The Steel
All our watches are made with quality 316L surgical-grade stainless steel for increased durability and rust resistance. It's truly made to last.
The Bezel
Analog diving watches will often feature a rotating bezel, that allows for easier reading of the elapsed time of under one hour from a specific point. As usual, we wanted the best that can be achieved with a reasonable price. The choice then fell on a 120-click one-way bezel. The reason that the bezel on dive watches is one-way is for safety reasons. If it could rotate both ways, you could accidentally set the bezel so that you think you have a longer time underwater than you actually have.
Strap and buckle
The strap is in a brushed steel finish and made of the same quality steel 316L as the watch case, see explanation under the "The Steel". For the buckle, we wanted a comfortable solution when you wear it, while also wanting a mechanism that minimizes the risk of it accidentally slipping up. The possibility of micro-adjustments of the size makes it very easy to find the correct size, making it fit perfectly on your wrist.
