ABOUT AIMEE BOBRUK
& THE AUG 17th DEEP EDDY 12 ANNUAL RACE

I am a singer-songwriter and vibrant participant in Austin's live music scene. In 2010 I was selected as a top 10 band by Austin Monthly and most recently I was featured in the book, The Sound of Austin. I have toured nationally and internationally, but Austin, TX is home! Off stage, I am an ardent swimmer and supporter of musicians' health and well-being. Three times a week I swim a mile or more at Austin's Deep Eddy pool. I figured it is time to use my passion for the water to support a great cause. The Deep Eddy Mile is an annual race open to the public where swimmers compete in racing a mile long race. How long is a mile? 1766 2/3 yards @ Deep Eddy that is 53 laps!
It is my goal to raise $500 for the SIMS Foundation as I swim a 1 mile race in the 12th Annual Deep Eddy Race on Aug 17th.
*All proceeds raised through this campaign benefit the SIMS Foundation.

THE IMPACT of YOUR DONATION & SIMS

Austin musicians often struggle financially and cannot afford mental health services when they need them most. Research shows that untreated mental illness can lead to incarceration, an inability to work, loss of housing and strained relationships, all of which effect our families as well as the greater community.

SIMS provides a range of life-saving mental health services to 800 clients per year. 98% of clients report an improvement in symptoms after initiating SIMS services.

Healthy, happy musicians make better band mates, better fathers and mothers, better wives and husbands. The result is a healthier, more productive creative community with more hours in the studio and more time spent with friends and loved ones.

SIMS provides a range of mental health services for Austin musicians and their families including:
  • Counseling sessions for individuals, couples, families, and entire bands.
  • Psychiatric services include psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
  • Addiction Recovery options include medical detoxification, intensive inpatient treatment, and continued care at a sober living facility.
