Why air quality? Our environment is being affected by air pollution that has a growing impact on our health. Our indoor air is 5 to 8 times more polluted than the outdoor air and we spend up to 90% of our lifetime indoors! What is AIRBOXLAB? AIRBOXLAB is a smart device monitoring indoor air pollution, learning from your home and activities, helping you maintain best possible air quality through personalized and predictive advice

How does it work? AIRBOXLAB features a unique sensor array in an airflow designed cylinder. It is meant to be used inside living spaces forwarding data to the cloud and pushing back results and advice on any of your connected devices.

We have built and tested a prototype embedding 6 sensors:

• VOC: Formaldehydes, benzene, ethylene glycol, acetone, etc.
• CO₂: Carbon dioxide
• CO: Carbon monoxide
• PM_: Particulate Matter
• T: Temperature
• RH: Relative Humidity

These sensors constantly measure the various sources and levels of your indoor pollution, results are safely stored in the cloud to be analyzed. We have developed pattern recognition and machine learning algorithms enabling push messages to be sent to improve your indoor living spaces through :

1. optimized air renewal in your distinctive rooms
2. locating sources of pollution to eradicate them
3. behaviour change to avoid repeating pollution patterns

What if…? We have this idea of going beyond this innovation by turning the AIRBOXLAB into a very special pollution detector. By turning upside down the device on a given surface you will be able to check whether the material is polluting your inner space or not. Now imagine we would build a library of polluting surfaces and share the results among the AIRBOXLAB community… we would start helping one another make better and safer choices in their living spaces.

Why do we need you? We’ve put a huge amount of work and our prototype is already running fine. We want to launch a first set of AIRBOXLAB devices to start building a community based on crowdsourced measurements. Together we will also increase the analysis accuracy and refine our algorithm to make an empowering tool helping citizens to live healthier.

AIRBOXLAB, c’est quoi ? Comment ça marche ? AIRBOXLAB intègre un ensemble de capteurs spécialement agencés dans un cylindre à circulation d’air. Toutes les mesures sont envoyées dans le “cloud” pour analyse et les résultats sont renvoyés sur n’importe lequel de vos supports connectés (smartphone, tablette, ordinateur).

Notre prototype inclut 6 capteurs :

Ces capteurs mesurent en continue les différentes sources et les niveaux de votre pollution intérieure. Nous avons développé des algorithmes de détection et de prévision de modèles de pollution afin de vous aider à remédier concrètement à maintenir la meilleure qualité d’air possible :

1. en optimisant le renouvellement de l’air intérieur
2. en localisant les sources de pollution et en les éliminant
3. en modifiant certains comportements producteurs de pollution.

Et si… ? Nous pouvons aller encore plus loin dans l’innovation en faisant de l’AIRBOXLAB un détecteur très spécial de la pollution. En retournant l’appareil sur n’importe quelle surface, vous pourriez vérifier si le matériau concerné pollue votre air intérieur. Imaginez alors une “bibliothèque” des objets polluants qui pourrait être partagée entre les utilisateurs de l’AIRBOXLAB… cela deviendrait alors la plus grande “bibliothèque” des sources de pollution nous permettant de mieux choisir l’aménagement de nos espaces intérieurs.
