Alexa's Angels
Our Journey began in 2009. My wife and I are looking to adopt our niece (Alexa) which we have had since she was 3 months old. Alexa came from a broken home where the parents simply weren't ready to be parents. Her story is certainly sad but we thank god every day for leading her to us and us to her. She is almost 4 years old now and needs to know that she is 100% our daughter. She needs to know that her last name is the same as ours. To this point in life we have avoided the difficult subject of her last name and where she came from. Of course she doesn't know any better at this point but that day will soon come.
We have a strong family presence and an extremely loving environment. We also have a growing family. We have one biological daughter currently and one more on the way. So yes, that's count them .... 3 girls all under the age of 5, and we wouldn't have it any other way. At this time we need some assistance making Alexa ours, officially. Adoptions can range from a few thousand dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. For our adoption we do not need to go oversees or go through any special agency, we were blessed with having Alexa in our lives already, but adoptions fees add up. Most adoption attorney's in our area are $200-$300 a hour (ours is $225), court fees are a minimum of $400 depending on how many times we have to go back to court, a home study that must be completed is around $600, the guardian ad litem is $250+, and this doesn't include additional attorney fees if the birth mother decides to contest. We must jump through every hoop even though we have had custody for over three years.
We are looking to raise a $3000 in an effort to relieve some of the financial stress. Every single dollar donated goes a long way to assuring that Alexa stays with us forever. It is our dream that one day soon we wake up knowing that Alexa is our daughter and there is no possibility of that changing. We simply want to provide Alexa the best possible home and future. We are asking for your help with our journey.
