The story follows 28-year-old Scott, a man living with depression and deep rooted anger problems. When Scott breaks the law, he is forced to wear an electronic monitoring device in the form of an ankle tag. He is subsequently required to move into the caravan on his mum, Linda's, drive. It is here that he discovers his mum has a new partner, Mag, who in turn comes with her son, 17-year-old Timothy, a confident boy with high functioning autism.

In this pilot episode we explore the early stages of the friendship that will evolve between Scott and Timothy.

Who are They?

Scott
Scott 28, distanced himself from his family 8 years ago. Scott is suffering from depression and an incident at work means that he is now placed under curfew. With nothing in his life, Scott is forced to live out his curfew back in Liverpool, with his mum and her new family. Desperately lonely, Scott's abrasive nature further isolates him from the world, even with so many people trying to get through to him. He is snarky, defensive but also very sensitive.

Timothy
Timothy, 17, was diagnosed with high functioning autism at 4. He didn’t speak until he was 5 and now speaks in stunted sentences unless mimicking or quoting someone else. He has a love for science and everything to do with space. He labels and organises all of his tools for stargazing. He is very polite, as he has been taught to be, and abides by most rules. He is loyal and friendly and while not being a very good conversationalist, he is a great listener. Timothy and his family have learnt how to live with his autism, even if the rest of the world hasn't.

Linda
Linda is 50 years old. She had Scott when she was 22. She married his Father at 18 and divorced him at 43. She is in a long term relationship with Mag whom she has known for 15 years. Linda leads a simple life. She enjoys cooking and gardening and the occasional game of tennis, she works as a nurse at the local GPs. She gets on with Timothy extremely well and is determined to reconnect with Scott.

Mag
Mag is 48. She was a single mother until her and Linda became partners. She adores Timothy and can be overly sensitive when it comes to him. She also enjoys cooking and works as a secretary at a small law firm.

Who are We?

Our whole crew is from different backgrounds and parts of the world, who now have been working together for 3 years at the University of the Arts London in the Film & Television course. All of us have worked together in many previous projects and we know each others strengths and weaknesses, which makes it easier to communicate and helps us to work as a team as we know where we have to support each other.

Patricija Sidlauskaite - Producer

Since a very young age, Patricija has lived all over Europe and attended many different creative art  schools, which involved film making, theatre, music and art. She started her studies at University of the Arts London with the intention to further her knowledge in editing but throughout the years has found love for producing and has successfully produced numerous films during her studies.

Josie Brown & Bradley Wilson  - Co-Directors & Co-Writers

Josie and Bradley met on the first day of university and they have been working together ever since. They have found that they are both passionate about telling the same stories, providing accurate representations through rich character-driven narratives. They wish to take this project beyond being a grad film and pitch it as a TV/online series. Bradley hopes to further his career as a director while Josie wishes to work as a writer.

Katie Spencer - DOP

Katie Spencer is an aspiring Director of Photography, currently pursuing a degree in Film and Television Production at UAL. As a hobby Katie began developing her composition skills early on through analogue stills photography, whilst working prolifically within the camera and lighting departments on a variety of student projects.

Rianna Gayle - Editor

Born in West London, Rianna is a third year student pursuing her bachelors degree in Film and Television production at University of the Arts London. Throughout the three years she has been focusing on editing as her specialism and has worked on numerous short films every year.

Why we need you?

For this project, the maximum budget we are allowed is £2000. Out of this total, £400 are given by our university and the rest is for us to fund and this is where we need your help!

The project will be filmed in Liverpool, this means that all of our crew, actors and equipment have to be taken there for a week! As you can see bellow, accomodation for actors & transportation of the crew is what we need the budget most for.

We have kindly been provided with accomodation for the whole crew, as well as our shooting location and caravan have been secured without any fees.
