A woman at a desk in an office typing, working on menial tasks. On the top of her screen is a post-it note that reads, ‘Interview tomorrow – 10AM’. An email notification pops up on screen but she ignores it. As soon as she closes the notification another one pops up. This happens a few more times before she decides to open it. When she opens her emails several of the same email are in the junk folder, they date back a few days and all contain a single room number. The woman leaves her desk with a handful of papers and makes her way through the office to an elevator. She walks down the hallway only to stop at a door. On the door is the number that was in the anonymous emails. She enters to find a dark room with a screen in it. On the screen is her. She sees how her day tomorrow is going to start.
The video shows her on the way to work, there is a massive downpour which she gets caught in. She rushes to get out of the rain, forcing a car to slow down as she runs into the road. When she arrives at work she slumps soaking wet to the break room to take off her coat. She doesn’t realise that her boss is standing behind her and hits her in the back. This causes her boss to spill coffee down her shirt. She apologises profusely and makes her way back to her desk. She notices her co-worker on the opposite desk fixing his tie and reading over some notes, preparing for his interview. She desperately tries to fix her appearance in a small compact mirror and collects her notes before following her co-worker to the interview room. She sits nervously outside the interview room as other candidates go before her. Eventually it comes to her interview. In the middle of the panel is her boss with a faint coffee stain down her white shirt. Later she sees her boss shaking hands with her co-worker and handing over his new contract. After watching the footage of how her day will go tomorrow the screen goes blank and she leaves the room, stunned at her insight.
The next day she makes her way to work, but this time with some differences. As she goes to leave she sees her umbrella out of the corner of her eye. Knowing of the impending downpour she slips it into her bag. Nonetheless, 5 minutes into her journey torrential rain floods the streets. As she walks down the road she waits patiently as a car speeds pass. She walks on unaware of the car smashing into the back of another further down the road. She turns at the sound of the crash but is too far down the road to notice any incident. She arrives at work a few minutes later than usual and passes her boss carrying a freshly made coffee as she makes her way to the break room. After making a drink and putting away her things she goes over to her desk and collects her notes for the interview. She notices her co-worker looking stunned on the phone and is surprised to see his eyes well up before abruptly getting up and leaving. Assuming there was some emergency she scans her notes one last time, fixes her hair and heads over to the interview. She opens the door to a panel of welcoming faces, including her boss who she passed earlier. She returns to her work, shortly after her boss comes up to her with a smile, handshake and new contract. After the success of her day, even with the simplest of changes she returns to the room to see what tomorrow will bring.
She is faced with the same screen, but instead of showing the next days’ events it shows her day today. In particular, the crash. It’s not long before her co-worker arrives at the scene distraught at the sight of his fiancé surrounded by paramedics. Stunned she steps back from the screen. She was then presented with two options, Continue or Shut Down. She hovers the mouse over the captions. The screen lights up her face and then goes blank. She stands outside the room, exasperated. She takes the room number off of the door.
