Overview
We've shot 10 hilarious ALL NEW episodes of ALLEY WAY featuring our newest cast member JOHN MARSHALL JONES (Bosch, Shooter, In the Cut). Now we just need money for Post Production and for a marketing blitz to get the word out once it drops. If you haven't caught our award winning first season, visit alleywayseries.com and you'll see why fans of the show are asking for more!

My Name is MARCUS FOLMAR and I've been acting and writing in Los Angeles for over 20 years (more on me below).  I've had some success as a writer and some success as a actor but this web series is the first time I've ever had a chance to bring my two loves together.  I wanted the show to be DIVERSE and RELATABLE and above all FUNNY but in a way that felt essentially grounded in TRUTH.  When I produced Season 1 of the show and saw how positively people responded to the content I knew that I was on to something and started making plans right away for a second season.   It took some time but we've got season 2 in the can.  We've brought back all your favorite characters and introduced some new ones.   We just need a little help to carry us over the finish line.

I self financed Alley Way Season 1.  This time around however, I’m not in a position to cover the cost of production in it's entirety on my own.   Nevertheless,  with a personal investment of $5000 and generous donations from a couple close friends and family members totaling the same,  we've already completed principal photography on the entire 10 episode second season!  That’s twelve days of shooting already in the can.  Comic gold.  Now we just need  to raise the funds to cover POST-PRODUCTION and MARKETING.

WHAT WE NEED - our fundraising goal is $10,000 with which we will...

PAY OUR EDITOR - editing is a very long, painstaking process.  We shot 92 pages.  That's the equivalent of a feature film!  Sorting all that out requires patience and great attention to detail.  Our editor is a friend of the show and not charging us nearly what he should be.  AND he's already started working on cutting the show between other projects even though I don't yet have anything to give him (the man is a saint).  Once we raise this money,  he'll be able to turn his full attention to Alley Way and we can start cranking out these episodes.

PAY OUR COLORIST - We're not shooting on the  fanciest most high tech cameras, but if you look back at Season 1 you'll agree that our show looks pretty damn good.  A lot of the credit for that goes to our COLORIST.  After the show is cut together someone sits down and goes shot by shot making adjustments to  the video to make sure colors and skins tones and lighting looks the best and most consistent as it can.  (Think of how many filters you go through just to post a selfie and multiply that by 100 and that's the workload of a colorist).  Another friend of the show...but he doesn't take monopoly money.

PAY OUR COMPOSER -  One of my favorite parts of the creative process during season 1 was developing the sound for ALLEY WAY with our composer Jongnic Bontemps who by the way has composed music for movies like CREED 2 and THE LAND.  I can't express how important music is to giving each episode the punch and the polish that it needs.

PROMOTE THE SHOW - One important thing I learned doing Season 1 is how important it is to think about promotion from the beginning of the process versus waiting until the show is done.  To that end, we've shot some things with the intent of cutting them into short promotions for Instagram or Twitter...but the editing and production of these are separate from the post-production budget.  I'd also like to do a launch event/screening to which we can invite social media bloggers and other influencers that can help give the show a nice push out the gate.  Finally, Facebook Ads and Google Ads are a great way to grow your audience...but they add up fast.

WHAT YOU GET...

I think the best of what you'll get by supporting this campaign is knowing that you've helped manifest something that was crafted with love, joy and passion and by doing so garnered my unyielding gratitude.  Nevertheless, here's a couple things we have planned as tangible expressions of our appreciation...

NEW PERKS JUST ADDED (Check Perks Side Bar For Details ) ------------------->>

ALLEY CATS (donors of $25 or more) in appreciation of you rocking with us we'll let the world know we rock with you via a ShoutOut on all our Social Media platforms and you will receive a preview link to the first episode a week before it goes live to the public!

BERNIE'S BOOSTERS (donors of $100 or more) Come celebrate with us! MORE ON MARCUS...

Marcus started his career in entertainment  thirty years ago as a child in Denver, CO where he booked his first network television role on NBC’s Father Dowling Mysteries. Marcus attended Northwestern University in Evanston, IL where he majored in Radio, Television and Film Production and Acting.  In addition to his honors production degree, he received a certificate for the successful completion of The School of Communication’s Writing for the Media program.

A working actor in Los Angeles since ’99 and a private audition coach since ’05 (www.bookingroomLA.com) Marcus is Co-President of the NUEA, West an affinity group of Northwestern University that works to bring together NU alumni in entertainment here in Southern California. Upon his arrival in L.A., roles on shows such as Frasier, Malcolm in the Middle, ER and Monk soon followed. More recently, Marcus worked on I'm Dying Up Here, Ballers and Santa Clarita Diet and freshman comedy The Kids Are Alright.    On the commercial side, Marcus has booked nearly two dozen national spots and is currently dancing his way into the hearts of America in a Xfinity campaign with company spokesperson Amy Poehler.  In all, Marcus has appeared in over 70 TV shows, films and commercials.

As a writer,  Marcus' romantic comedy The List was produced in 2006 and played at  numerous film festivals domestically and internationally before being nationally broadcast as an ABC Family original movie 2007.  Starring Wayne Brady, Sydney Tamiia Poitier, Flex Alexander, Ileana Douglas, Brad Dourif and Malcolm Jamal Warner,  the film went on to be nominated for three NAACP Image Awards including one for Best TV Movie.

BOTTOM LINE...

Please remember EVERY DOLLAR COUNTS!  And even if you can't lend financial support, you can still help by sharing this campaign on your Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.  And by doing the same with the episodes when they are released.  Thanks in advance!  If you haven’t checked out Alley Way season 1 yet now is the time to binge watch (alleywayseries.com) and we’ll see you soon for the premiere of season 2.
