ALVARIUM

Regina, an impressionable young woman finds herself at the heart of a mysterious cult, where she is forced to surpass three mind-bending trials in order to set herself free.

Alvarium is very much a psychological horror.

Alvarium is a surreal, dark and foreboding delve into Regina’s unstable mind. Regina is a young woman who has gone through most her life suppressing her trauma and negative emotions which becomes even harder due to the recent unexpected death of her parent. She is a character on the verge of snapping and is trying her hardest to keep it together by drowning her sorrows in partying and alcohol.

One of the themes we want to explore here is how trauma affects different people in different ways and the sort of dangers of keeping the trauma, grief and guilt in can build up to which we will showcase using horror and surreal fantasy. Another theme that ties in with this is individuality, which is going to be the driving force behind Shepard’s objectives and Regina’s reactions.

The cult will have beaten, broken and creepy looking animal masks ranging from; sheep, dogs, rabbits to crow. The masks will add a sense of suspense and mystery to the cult and their objective.This is an extremely atmospheric film with unsettling visuals and imagery as well as unsettling plot points.

THE PRODUCTION

"ALVARIUM" will be shot in July 2021 in Vancouver, the final product will be a short film approximately around 10 minutes.The fund's purpose is to enable complete production of the movie, including the various stages involved. The funds will also be used in paying Labour and various personnel who will be engaged in the film production process. It will also enable the production of the film show. With the successful fundraising, the production of the film show will be successful and of high quality recommendable by viewers. Our concern is that all the scenes will be produced and every requirement well captured.
